So, back in season 1 when Stede showed Ed the picture he had of him, Ed thought it was ridiculous how much knives and weaponry he was depicted carrying. Now, after the worst breakup of his life and losing custody of almost all his kids, he’s shown with more weapons than Izzy has toes. It’s not going well guys. We’re in for a ride.

YES FINALLY!!! A Rocky-style Stede training montage is definitely on my OFMD S2 Bingo card.

However :( in order for this to happen, I think Ed is gonna go a bit overboard on pirate cruelty (even for Izzy’s taste, what with Ed killing Lucious in cold blood and maybe an entire wedding party yikes) and Izzy is going to leave him to find Stede to help stop Ed’s Dark-PhoenixTM era.

Izzy will whip Stede into shape! teach him how to fight like a pirate! and maybe start seeing to eye to eye and become begrudging friends??! (Not that Izzy would ever acknowledge it).

when stede says “i’m afriad he’s better off without me!” it seems like it’s a silly clichè statement coming from stede’s more vain side, but to me it made it re-hit that he truly left because he thought he was making the people around him (especially ed) worse. he truly believes that ed would have been better off without him, and having to see that would make it true. Meanwhile ed is in such an awful place that the people around stede try to hide the truth and are scared to tell him the things that blackbeard did because stede left. It confirmed to edward that he truly was unlovable once he showed his true colors, when he was so close to true happiness for the FIRST time in his life. Ed is supposed to be doing great because Stede left and it’s why he’s lower than he’s ever been
