After a prayer and blessing by Shinto priests in front of the omikoshi palanquin (神輿) at Mikuriya Jinja Shrine (御厨神社), a crew of youngsters hefts it up and sets off parading it off the shrine precincts into the streets of Matsusaka during the summer Matsusaka Gion Matsuri Festival (松阪祇園祭)
