—————Could you tell us the process/circumstances that led to your first award?

Terajima - When I brought the wrestling manga I drew (his 4th work) into the “Weekly Shounen Magazine” editorial department, the one that was in charge of it was the current editor in chief.

—————I see. So from there, the joint creative activities of two people began.

Terajima - That’s right. However, for a while, I was only told, “Please draw your next work.” While I was working part-time, I continued to draw “sports manga” and “gang manga” alternately. About a year later, I was told that the baseball manga I drew after the work I first brought in had won an award, and I thought, “Eh?..That one from such a long time ago?”. I think they were probably testing my motivation. After that, I was also introduced to an assistant job for Inoue Masaharu sensei’s “Marathon Man” that was being serialized.
