The Talk
The things my father said, when I decided to be honest with him. "Relax. It's okay. He was your first love, why be ashamed of it? Did he know he was the first? Were you his first? "I am your father. I knew you were seeing someone, but I respect you enough not to pry. It took you long enough to tell me. I wondered what triggered it? "You did not have to hide it in the first place. You were afraid that I would get angry, but I will never get angry on things that make you happy. "Ask me, ask me if I would have approved. "What's his name? How is his home? I want to know. A son's choices in life is based on the presence of his father. "Why did he break up with you? How long? Oh, that sucks. Relax, it's okay. It's over. It's going to take time. "He played your heart. A man who truly loves you will never play with your heart. He left you. He doesn't deserve you. "When you do not trust a man, and in turn he doesn't trust in himself, it will never work out. Any relationship is founded on trust and respect for you and himself. "When he doesn't have the confidence in himself, he will not be a great man. I would know, when I see him. "It's over. Learn from it. Bring with you the good lessons and not the bad. "I am proud that you have the right mind and conscience to tell me. It shows your morals are still intact. "Always remember, when a man earns your respect, your trust, and your adoration. That is when you love him. "I am your best friend. And I love you always, no conditions."
Rules of Engagement
When the end of things come we will likely never see eye to eye but we will definitely know how to point fingers. So as you concentrate under iron sights please try to remember what your aim is because no one wins when we’re both behind the trigger.
You Can Do Better
"You can do better" is the 4 words I hate most ever combined.
I never want to hear "You can do better...." after a test, a paper, a project, or anything.
But worst of all. "You can do better than him/her." I hate that the most.
How dare someone pass judgment on the value of a person and what they've given into a relationship, especially when that person is just an outside observer. And ESPECIALLY when that person is strictly making their comment based on physical attractiveness.
Excuse you, you shallow prick, go jump off a cliff, the world would do better with less people like you.
When my friends said, "You can do better," do you know how I replied?
"What is better measured by?" Looks? Intelligence? Athletic prowess? Humor?
It's all bullshit.
When I love someone, I don't love a list of THINGS. I love a PERSON. I love that person for everything they are, flaws and all.
So please, refrain from using "You can do better" in my presence.
