I really am beginning to think I’m too sensitive for fandom in 2025.
i can’t believe @/byler is taken by some rando (re)blogging about his relationship (?). god is testing me tonight.
so in absolute crazy news:
Liverpool, #1 on the EPL table by a large margin, finally lost their first match in the EPL since January 2019 (that’s 422 days)
...to Watford
which was ranked 19th out of 20 in the league standings
just let that sink in for a moment
But even worse for me, as a Villa supporter, is that this now means that Villa is 19th and in danger of relegation again!! We just got promoted to the EPL!!!
bad day overall soccer wise. very sad news
ngl if I were to get a cat or a dog or smth id absolutely be buying UNLESS i could tour a shelter and spend an extended amount of time with an animal that i like and responds well to me.
this is coming from YEARS of experience on buying second hand birds of prey (who are generally always sold for a reason! and if there isn't one then the owner is lying). plus also seeing firsthand the lies shelters can and do tell to get an animal out of their care - there's a cat been in the shelter I did my work placement at that was on a red dot Do Not Fucking Touch Unless You Are Staff. and staff, if a volunteer or non staff is present, will tell you to stay totally still and do not interact with her if she approaches to see who you are. do not look at her, do not stand close to her cage, if she escapes during weighing you stand there and the staff member will corral her. according to the shelters social media she's 'very friendly' but just 'hasnt adjusted well to cattery life'
....that cat is AGGRESSIVE, Janice. if i got an animal, discovered it had behavioural issues like that, and had to take it back because it's a wrong fit for the both of us and the shelter lied, id be INFURIATED and heartbroken for the animal (again, coming from someone who rehabilitated a nervous wreck of a harris hawk because i am almost certain the previous owners lied to us). i can't think of anything worse than having to pass an animal around like a parcel into several stressful environments, because I know my limits, and the only aggressive creature id feel remotely comfortable working with is a hawk. it isn't that im unwilling to do the work to learn - there are some issues that are above my pay grade and it would be irresponsible to force an animal into my well meaning but badly executed re-training and management because i don't have the experience to know FULLY what im doing.
anyway point is adopt don't shop can at times be a really really bad mentality and mantra to say. shelters are often over stretched yes, but i don't believe the first instinct for all potential pet owners should be to adopt. consider it, yes, but the demonisation of legitimate and responsible breeders helps nobody (...coming from someone who has assisted in raising three or four litters of high pedigree dogs at this time)
anyway that's my anecdote of the night
i think god heard me
my f1 commentator is so insistant on rage baiting me
I know I’ve entered a depressive episode when I don’t argue with my friends about their stupid decisions lol
Like, wow; like I care so much but I just have no fucking energy to show that rn like I’m sooo sorry pookie!!😭😭
