look this might ruffle feathers but just cuz some of you don’t care abt lore or analysis and you don’t see the dsmp as a story medium as much as a place for ppl to have fun with their friends (where i lie) doesn’t mean ppl are stupid to do so and have fun with that in their own way! an entire fandom and community was founded on the dsmp/cc’s roleplaying + despite the delays, despite the inherently scuffed nature of part improvised part scripted rp, despite Everything it’s not dumb to expect ppl have latched onto stories they’ve been earnestly given

it’s not dumb that it’s resonated with anyone even if you don’t wanna take it seriously and being meanspirited abt it consistently is giving me bad vibes like !! being jaded by lore discourse and ppl who are so quick to throw out real cc’s feelings for characters and seeing the same discourses rehashed? i get that. you can even entirely think lore is cringe or that it’s tainted smth you previously cared abt (even if you have to move on and accept it at some point bc. it is what it is now) but pick your battles stop being a jackass to random ppl and their thoughts and feelings, if you think someone’s particular take is ass critique it i just feel like you don’t have to be snide abt ppl caring generally

Purpled isolated himself from the SMP because he didn’t want to be dragged into anything. Because he looked at Tommy and Tubbo and Ranboo and realised this server would stomp him into the ground if he made himself known. He, at the age of seventeen, cut himself off from everyone because he was afraid if he didn’t, he’d be hurt like the other minors.

But Tommy knew Dream before the exile. Ranboo, Tommy and Tubbo were part of l’manberg, they were always gonna be in Dream’s crosshairs. For Tommy and Tubbo especially, they knew Dream was targeting them.

But Purpled. . .  he barely knew who Quackity was. An employer, once, and nothing more. Tommy never listened to Dream, that’s how he justified the exile. Jschlatt knew Tubbo was a spy, that’s how he justified killing him. Purpled did nothing to Quackity. Absolutely nothing.

And Quackity deliberately sought this child out, who he barely knew, and destroyed his home. To prove a point.

And all the work Purpled has done to hide himself away, to protect himself? Rendered moot.
