Carnelian, Hiddenite & Quartz
send me a crystal and i’ll tell...
carnelian: an art-related headcanon
Wilson is more of a logician than an artist, though he’s surprisingly good at a few artistic things. For instance, he can draw and sketch things out rather well for someone with little actual training--it comes from sketching diagrams and results of his experiments, since he couldn’t afford a camera, and he has a strong grasp of human anatomy and proportions, so even his figures aren’t bad, though they always end up looking rather stiff. He never really draws for fun, other than random scribbles and lines if he’s having trouble paying attention to something.
hiddenite: how much of an "inner child" my muse has
Quite a bit of one. People could argue--and have--that Wilson never really “grew up” all the way. His curiosity and wonder (not to mention sense of humor) could still be considered quite childlike, as is his energy. Even the hellish world he’s been thrown into hasn’t quite managed to destroy him and age his soul quite yet. Petulant, impulsive, stubborn, blunt, and a bit of a hermit, Wilson can be seen as immature to some, even if he tries to act upright. And even if he has no idea how to act around children, he can still get into playing with the kids if he has to, even if his talk flies over heads. And he can get rather invested in childish things, childish games.
After all, he wouldn’t have gotten far as a scientist without at least a little bit of imagination.
quartz: how my muse thinks other people see them
If questioned about it, Wilson will claim that others see him as intelligent but aloof, a bit of an enigma, but still a polite and courteous gentleman. But in private...he has no delusions about how others see him, he’s been told too many times. Mad, eccentric, whackjob, egghead, he’s heard it all, backwards and forwards. So he can get rather defensive if it sounds as if someone he’s just met is trying to throw insults at him or tear him down, and can start off rather closed off because of this. At this point, he just assumed no one can ‘understand’ his ‘genuis’--that they all are going to think he’s crazy. He’ll automatically be trying to prove them wrong.
