Once-ler headcanon

One of my Once-ler’s headcanons is that he was homeschooled, I don’t know why but I imagine him being educated at home.

Onceler headcanon…? Idk just listen me.

So, firstly I think that Oncie is older than Brett and Chet.

I think that twins mom really loved twins dad but the twins dad died after few months they born. Then she meet with Onceler’s dad, which is rich and have a child who is Onceler. Onceler’s dad’s money is only thing she wanted, that’s why she married with him. Then she poisoned him to just get his money.

What she didn't expect was that Onceler’s father bequeathed a really large portion of his money to Onceler and demanded that even one person involved in this money go to prison until Onceler turned 18.

And that’s why she always hate Onceler but try to be nice just for the money.

And when Onceler became 18, he never give that money to any of them, instead he immediately goes to find a place to make thneeds when he graduates.

Ok, Once-ler fandom. Felt like I should throw this out there.

I have this heacanon that the Once-ler donated all of his money he had left after the fall of the Thneed empire to charity and wildlife/nature reserves.He didn't seem to have much when he was old, and it just seems like something he'd do after he realised what he had done.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this is a possibility.

I read a book on toxic families recently. Most of it wasn't news to me and I didn't always care for the author's tone, but there were some things in it that I may be able to use in my personal life.

Anyway, near the end of the book, a new headcanon for The Once-ler popped up for me. I thought, what if a few weeks or months after his family left, his mother started missing him in her own way but instead of calling him to say so directly she hinted at it to the rest of the family so his brothers would call and bug him to come home for her. By this point though, he'd realized that in spite of his bad situation he was actually better off without them and firmly turned them down until they finally gave up on him.

Maybe The Once-ler wasn't completely alone all those years. Maybe the crows were his buddies. They're smart birds.

I keep forgetting about the crazy retractable claw and booby-trapped front door that The Once-ler had at his place. Maybe he kept tinkering and inventing stuff out of the junk that was lying around in the wasteland and that's how he kept his sanity over the years. Folks need to have hobbies!

One of My Headcanons for The Once-ler

A headcanon I have for The Once-ler is that he's a college dropout. He switched majors between engineering, architecture, design, and business before finally hitting on the idea for his thneed and deciding that's what he should be working on. Then he lived at home for a couple more years and worked a crap job to pay off student loans before getting up the nerve to hit the road.
