JACOB BALON is a 21 year old PATIENT in the PSYCHIATRIC WARD. He has been diagnosed with NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER and BIPOLAR DISORDER and looks a lot like Harry Styles.
It was a cliche, right? For the older brother to be the handsome, charming one who bullied the younger brother... That had never been the case for Jacob Balon. He had been born the perfect child, with an older brother who was so excited for his arrival that he could burst. When Jacob was born, all of the attention was placed onto him. It wasn’t that his older brother disliked it - he tried to understand it as much as he could... All of the reassuring conversations from his parents meant a great deal to him and only encouraged him to take care of his brother more. Jimmy knew that he could gain attention by treating Jacob as well as he could and that was when Jacob gained his own personal bodyguard. Jacob had grown into an infant, with every time that they went on family days out, his older brother would be keeping a close eye on him. As he begun school, any other child that dared to think about picking on the younger Balon would feel the wrath of Jimmy... He was protective over his brother and that was that.
WE HOPE THEY ARE PLAYING A GAME
But things hadn’t planned out the way that Jimmy had planned. With age, Jacob became a cocky little shit. As the crowds backed away, steering clear of Jacob with the threat of Jimmy, he started thinking that he was invincible. Not only did he grow up to be an attractive boy who recieved all of the attention within his school but the fact that everybody else was speaking of Jacob, barely acknowledging Jimmy - the creepy older brother - Jacob’s own vision had begun to grow warped. His ego had started to heighten and he was learning exactly how to press his brothers buttons, purely because he was everything that Jimmy was not. He was smart, attractive and a charmer as opposed to his older brother who was creepy, jealous and explosive. As Jacob’s reputation continued to blossom, Jimmy grew into an introvert. He looked like the antisocial brother who didn’t want to show his face at family events but nobody else saw it for what it truly was; two brothers who were at war, tormenting each other behind the backs of their parents. Despite Jimmy being more upfront about his feelings, Jacob played the angel card who had no idea why Jimmy had it in for him. When the two were alone, Jacob would make quips towards Jimmy - teasing him as to why everybody loved him and everybody hated Jimmy...
BUT THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING
Tensions were growing sharper between the brothers; Jacob was developing attributes that obliterated all sense of care he had for Jimmy. Although he was a ladies man, who had a great circle of friends, he could easily flip when needs be... But that was because he was so used to getting his own way at home. If things didn’t go the way he had planned, whether that be social situations or plans, Jacob would disassociate himself from his circle until he decided that they were worthy of his attention again. He would so quickly flip between his friends, that it made it twice as easy to do with his family... He could jump between the friendly, family guy to the one who would push Jimmy backwards and backwards until he was standing on a cliff edge. It didn’t take long until Jimmy had eventually had enough. Jacob had tried his damn hardest to tear Jimmy down - telling him that he was clearly adopted and that was why he would never fit in with the Balon’s idealistics... He even stretched to point out the numerous baby photos of him, versus the lack of photos of Jimmy. Having exploded within the space of his bedroom, Jimmy had plotted his grand scheme of revenge which involved showing up to the family event that Jacob was attending with his parents. As the older brother staggered into the towns hall with the intentions of exposing Jacob for being the arrogant asshole that he was, the situation became entirely unexpected, turning violent when Jimmy eventually lashed out; assaulting his brother whilst onlookers turned terrified. The police were called and as the their parents explained the story of where things had begun to go wrong, both boys were taken in for question and placed under a psychiatric evaluation where they were both diagnosed with combinations of disorders and sent to Brielle Institute.
