1. Are you typically one who plans or are you more spontaneous?
I like planning out the big things and leaving room in the gaps for surprises.
2. Favorite place you’ve ever visited?
I’m not sure if my relationship with Disney World counts as visiting anymore, but my favorite place in the world is the bridge between the UK and France pavilions at Epcot, at night, with 10 minutes to go until IllumiNations.
3. Do you agree with your Myers-Briggs type or not?
I’m very much an INFP, yep.

Only when it comes to books and Christmas ornaments
5. Favorite tv/movie/literary trope?
*shows up at your door at 4 a.m.* I can’t sleep
6. What’s your vice (or at least one you’ll share with the class)?
X-Files fan videos that treat the FTF blooper kiss like a canon Mulder and Scully kiss
7. Are you in your life where you saw yourself 5 years ago?
I’m actually not too far off!
8. Which of your abilities do you take the most pride in?
I’m slightly less terrible at writing than I am at other things.
9. What is your favorite item of clothing (or accessory)?
I wear my 10-year camp ring just about every day.
10. Would you rather give up every kind of sweets or all things salty?
I’d give up sweets, but I wouldn’t be happy about it.
11. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten (or perhaps given)?
Life’s too short to match your socks (advice courtesy of a friend from college)

Rules: List 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag 10 friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.
1) The Brothers Karamazov — Fyodor Dostoevsky (I know it’s peak 90s Duchovny of me but this book changed my perspective on what it even means to be alive and I chin-handsed my way through every pretentious-ass reference The X-Files made to it)
2) Bossypants — Tina Fey (that section on improv’s life lessons!)
3) Mercier and Camier — Samuel Beckett (I read this when I was studying abroad in Ireland and I didn’t even like it?? But we had such good class discussions on it that it wound up shaping my perspective on language and silence and what it is to respect others’ experiences.)
4) The Harry Potter series — JK Rowling (I didn’t read the HP series until after college. I cried a lot, and not just because one of the kids I worked with in Alaska spoiled the timing of Dumbledore’s death.)
5) Brave New World — Aldous Huxley (“But I don’t want comfort”)
6) To the Lighthouse — Virginia Woolf (It’s gorgeous and weird and it’s all about art and time and I’m into it)
7) New and Selected Poems — Mary Oliver (I know it's not a novel)
8) The Complete Stories of Flannery O'Connor (Haaaave you read “The Misfit”?)
9) The Last of the Really Great Whangoodles — Julie Andrews Edwards (I don’t remember another book that made me, as a kid, more aware of my own childhood and how fleeting and important it was)
10) The Phantom Tollbooth — Norton Juster (In retrospect, it’s like Doctor Who meets wordplay. Of course I loved it)
