“Hey, hey! Yuki, look at what I got~!” Ryou then proudly held up a human heart, still fresh so it was likely still beating inside a chest not to long ago. “You shoulda joined me an Tokiko, we were playing surgeon.”

Uncharacteristically for such a victor, the smile is gone at the sight of the ghost child. The man flinches away from the sight, knowing full well that these spirits will not just leave him alone - unless he finds a way to make them.
“Leave me alone, you little assholes! I’ve had about enough of you!”

The natural first course of action when you spot a small child who appeared to be bleeding from several parts of their body might be to call someone for help, or ask if they’re okay. In fact, it wouldn’t be unnatural for someone to lose track of where they are and what they’re doing and just start panicking. Though it’s rather odd for them to stop what they’re doing an approach the child with a joke.
“Well you’re a sight for sore eye, aren’t you?”
Like that.
“It’s not every day you see someone who’s fine with bleeding for no reason. Did you run out of badages?”

Got hit by some random truck passing by and for some miraculous reason, he survived and was brought into the nearest general hospital. He wasn't the only one who got into the accident though, there were five more people but the three didn't make it. The doctors didn't seem all that concern which was only normal since unlike him, they were aware that the city has a respawn system that gradually brings back the dead the next day like nothing ever happened. It worried him to a fault. Was it because death was normalized in this place?
Saving himself the trouble, he called for the nurse who was just passing by and asked her to change the channel on the television only for said nurse to look at the person in the hospital bed next to his and say the channel was currently entertaining another and the remote control was not in her possession. Dumbstruck he was, the nurse left and he glanced upon the other patient, then to the remote control with eyes barely menacing. He's just wondering if...
"Hey, think you can change the show?"

⊰ She looks down at the little girl crouched on the cold sidewalk. One of her hands is resting on her small knee and the other wrapped around a thin stick, using it to poke a bird that is slumped over onto the ground. Dead, Rei presumes. From the angle at which she is standing she cannot see the girl’s missing eye and the blackness that sits in it’s place instead.
“You should leave that be.”

〈 ☢ 〉—‣ It was a normal day, warmer than what it had been previously during the past few months, but normal none the less. With the boost in temperature Souda was able to head up to the apartment building's roof to get a gander at the stars. Down on the ground you could hardly see them due to the lights. The city was no place for stargazing, and he found the roof to even be a terrible place to try and view them.
Despite his disappointment the view of the rest of the Hive was amazing. Bright lights lit up the big city and he remembered that even though this wasn't a place he wanted to be kept in, he felt a sense of calm. He didn't have to worry about trials or being murdered here. He was safe to some extent despite the aggressive residents. Not to mention he had gotten tired of being on the beach day in and out for days on end. He burned easily and that was a pain to deal with when you had to worry about whether or not someone was trying to kill you or not. One problem at a time was all he needed.
Not that the universe cared about what he needed or wanted. The already cool temperature of the night dropped considerably and behind him the door to the stairwell slammed open, hitting the wall behind it. The teenager jumped in his own skin and visibly shook as his heart rate sped up. Was someone up here with him? There were no external lights on the top of the hotel so only the fading glow of the surrounding buildings lent him enough light to see. Yet there was nothing to be seen. Souda swallowed thickly and took a step away from the handrail of the raised edge. He needed to get back inside, that's what his instincts were telling him. But would he make it?

[ Do you believe ghosts exist?
Many a funeral, many a burial, many sleeping dead faces and the tears of those who fell... The functioning bodies of ghouls seeped away under Ixa so many times, he knew what death looked like when he saw it.
Their presence was unmistakable-- death lines the place in which he is. A ghost, the dead, it lurks somewhere. ]
What is it?
[ A soft, gentle question, framed with a quiet even voice. It looks as if he's just musing to himself, but he feels her presence. You can't really fool someone who's so intimately acquainted with death. ]
