Bandai America Brings One Piece Tamagotchi to 2022 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo ‘C2E2’
A magical weekend celebrating pop culture, fandoms, and more. C2E2 runs from August 5th 2022 through August 7th 2022 at McCormick Place in Chicago Illinois. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of One Piece, the brand is going on tour and has landed in Chicago, which is the second location since 2022 San Diego Comic-Con was the first.
Bandai has brought the One Piece Tamagotchi to C2E2 in all shells, and attendees are voting of their favorite shells. One Piece Tamagotchi Smart Special Set appears to not be in attendance as it will be exclusive to Japan.
Bandai Japan Announces Winning One Piece Tamagotchi Shells
When the One Piece Tamagotchi was announced Bandai Japan did not select the two shells that would be released, instead they left it up to the fans! Fans had the ability to vote on five shells, only two shells with the most votes would be selected and available of purchase. Voting ended late September 2022, and results have just been announced!
The two winning shells are Chopper Memorial Color (darker blue), and Chopper Special Color (lighter blue). Preorders for both shells should be available soon. Both shells are listed for ¥2,860 with a release of February 25th, 2023 which appears to be a little bit later than we initially thought.
One Piece Tamagotchi to be Exhibited at Meet the “One Piece” Event in Japan
Meet the “One Piece” is an upcoming outdoor free event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of One Piece. The event will be hosted until August 21st, 2022 at the Shibuya Cast Space Garden in Tokyo, Japan. You can enjoy all things One Piece, including the One Piece Tamagotchi! You’ll also see the One Piece Tamagotchi Smart Special Set with that beautiful new shell and watchband!
Bandai Japan has announced they will be bringing all the One Piece Tamagotchi shells to the event which actually started back on July 23rd, 2022, it’s not clear when the Tamagotchi’s were on display.
