Cas being the best Dad ever, goddamn it I’m not going to survive

So I’m finally catching up on Cobra Kai, and I just watched season 3 episode 7, and in the final scene I really liked how they showed the difference between Kreese and Johnny. 

When Miguel and Hawk step up, Johnny puts himself in front of Miguel, who immediately stops, while Kreese has to put a hand on Hawk and push him back. I think it really says a lot about the relationships between sensei and student, and just a nice little detail

I’ve rewatched 2x08 way too many times, and each rewatch I notice something different about the way Rafa acts Carlos. Like when you go frame by frame in the scene between Owen and Carlos, you see the progression of how vulnerable, sad and confused Carlos feels about the situation. 

He starts off normally, open set of shoulders, lifted jaw, all regular confident ticks for Carlos. Rafa does the upward head thing a lot, especially when Carlos is feeling confident like in the “I do like people knowing you’re mine” scene. Then he tells Owen he got suspended: 

He pulls back, his shoulders drop, the head comes down. The confident posture disappears in two seconds flat(peep Judd in the back). Carlos also avoids more eye contact than necessary, a nervous gesture, when telling Owen what happened. 

And because I’m overanalyzing, I love the way Carlos starts drinking the smoothie at the beginning of the conversation relaxed and smiling:

Then midway to the end, Carlos takes a sip like this: 

Hunched shoulders, avoiding eye contact. All his body language is showing that he’s uncomfortable and sad, and he’s curling inwards to protect himself from this topic. I think this is the first time we’ve seen Carlos so unsure of himself, and Rafa did such a good job of showing us how Carlos feels, without telling us outright. and that’s👏🏾on👏🏾excellent👏🏾acting👏🏾!

let’s talk about THAT scene. the entire time Carlos is fiddling with his shaky hands, twisting them together nervously as TK talks. What I love so much is that at the end, when TK is trying the bridge this gap between them, he reaches out for Carlos, holding his hands, reassuring Carlos, himself and(if i can be really meta) resolving the shaky ba-dum-tish ground they were on. now they’re steady and in love and GAH

I wonder if Julie and Flynn take the boys to the mall to get clothes, cause yeah they might have some laying around from DECADES ago but they don’t have a whole wardrobe and if there’s one thing Flynn won’t allow, it’s bad fashion in her presence. And now i’m imagining Flynn choosing out clothes for boys she can’t see and getting their style down perfectly. She somehow becomes shopping besties with Alex(Reggie ran off to the gelato stand, Luke is trying to go sing in the music store while Julie tries to stop him) and now they do monthly runs to the thrift store. (and yes she can’t see Alex at all but that’s the magic of their friendship)
