A/N: Happy birthday to one of the cutest leaders I know <3
No matter how many times Jinki ran his hands over his cream slacks, he couldn't get rid of the sweaty palms sensation. Sure, his body hadn't produced sweat in centuries but that fact did little to the feeling go away.
Today was the day.
All the paperwork was done. Any registration fees were paid. He just needed to ask you. Make it official on paper.
A quick glance at his watch reminded him that you should be getting off the bus soon. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.. Everything would be alright. Even if you rejected his request, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
You knocked on the door lightly. It'd be difficult, if not impossible, for other people to hear it, but you knew he could be deep in his basement and still pick up the sound. He opened the door and smiled. "____, welcome."
You smiled sweetly and stepped inside. "The storm's starting to kick up. I brought my overnight bag, just in case." You held up the leopard print backpack. "Hope that's okay."
He nodded and closed the door. "Of course it is. I prefer it over traveling so late."
You laughed. "Somehow I knew you'd say that." You stepped close and poked his cheek, eyeing the reaction of his skin. "Hm, you're a little dryer than usual." You stepped back and peeled off your scarf and coat. "Have you been overdoing it again?"
He avoided your perceptive gaze. "It couldn't be helped. I needed to pickup documents and return them as quickly as possible."
You sighed and turned on your heel. "Then we should go ahead and get started." You beckoned him to follow with a few curls of your finger. Like a lovesick puppy, his feet obeyed. It wasn't until you pulled your shirt collar away from your throat that he even noticed you were seated, waiting for him to drink his fill.
"Oh, no." He shook his head to clear away the fog. "I wanted to talk with you first."
"Oh?" You blinked then let go of your shirt. "What about? Is it my work schedule? I can request to get off earlier, but I'm not sure my boss will allow it."
"Well, yes but not exactly." He went to his desk and plled out the contract he picked up from H&V Resources. "You made a comment last month about how it'd be easier to be a live-in donor--"
You glanced at him then at the papers in his hand before jumping to your feet. "Is that--" Fear and sorrow flowed from your pores like a thick, bitter syrup completely unlike your usual light floral scent. "Oh. I-I didn't mean to upset or offend you. It's just been a mess at work and being with--I'm mean, around you--Oh, God. Please don't fire me--"
He shushed you with a cold fingertip against your trembling lips. "I wouldn't dream of it." When he was certain you'd calmed down, he held up the papers. "It took me a while to get permission and the permits, but I'd like to ask you to be my personal live-in donor."
Your jaw dropped.
"As you said then, it'd be much easier if you lived here with me." He gestured to your surroundings. "I have plenty of space. I'm offering a six-figure salary as well as health and life insurance." He passed the papers to you.
"Mr. Lee, that's a lot of money."
"I realize that. That's why I hoped to have you take on the role as my personal assistant with my company as well. You could help me avoid 'overdoing it,' as you say. It'd benefit you as I wouldn't need to feed as often." When that thoughtful look settled on your face as you flipped through the pages, the sweaty palms came back. He shoved his hands into his pockets. "Feel free to take your time to look over--"
"Where's a pen?" You searched the top of his desk and found one. Before he thought to stop you, you were going through and signing and initialing wherever highlighted.
"I-I thought you'd want to take your time to read it thoroughly." It was a lot to process given all the disastrous ways he imagined things turning out.
"It's a no-brainer. I hate my other job and we get along great. On top of that, you're essentially offering a way to turn my life around. Even one year working for you would pay off my debts." Your words were rushed and your hand shook as you blitzed through the contract. "Imagine me being able to lease a car!"
Your happiness was contagious, treating him to a richer flavor of your scent he'd never experienced. "I'd be happy to help you get a car. I could also loan you one of mine as a company car."
You paused and looked at him with a mixture of shock and glee. "I've never had a job with a company car before." Doubt flittered through your mind. "Are you sure you want me for this?" Worry filled your eyes and it melted his heart.
"____, dear. May I be brutally honest with you?" When you nodded he took one of your hands in his. "You are one of the most brilliant, endearing, and compassionate people I've ever met. There's no one else I trust, or want, to give this position to."
"Thank you so much." You blushed then returned to the contract. You scribbled your name on the final page and handed the stack to him. "It'll be a pleasure living with you."
He chuckled and accepted the contract. "I'm almost positive the pleasure will be all mine."
Prompt A81— “You said you would come back soon! It’s been all night!”
Warnings: Angst, slight fluff, mention of a pet passing.
W/C: 1.1K
The cool air of the night nipped at your exposed skin as you made your way towards the apartment building you lived in with Jinki, you had left, you weren’t sure when you had left the building after you received a call, you left with only the words ‘I’ll come back soon' before disappearing into the elevator and out the building to take a walk and clear your head, your eyes were red from crying and your nose felt stuffy, the door to the building opens and Jinki moves towards you, you could see his tense muscles and the worry in his eyes.
“Y/n, oh, thank gods.” He says as he engulfs you into a warm hug. “I was so worried about you, where did you go?” He releases you from the hug and moves his hands up to your face to cup your cheeks, you hadn’t moved at all since he had engulfed you in a hug, he inspects your face and quickly picks up on your red eyes and tear-stained cheeks. “You said you would come back soon! It’s been all night!” You could hear the concern in his tone. “Come on, let’s get inside, and you can tell me what’s going on.” He releases your cheeks and wraps an arm around you, guiding you into the building and to the elevator.
“I’m sorry.” You whisper, your voice hoarse after crying and sniffing, Jinki pulls you close against him. “I’m sorry I made you worry.” You could feel your eyes swelling up with tears.
“Don’t apologize.” He gently says. “Something clearly upset you.” You bring one of your hands to your face and use the sleeve of the hoodie you wore to wipe away the tears threatening to spill. “You can tell me when you’re ready, but please don’t disappear like that for almost the entire night again.” You sniff as you slowly nod your head, he gently rubs your upper arm. “I’m just happy you returned safely.” The elevator slowly comes to a halt before the doors open, he leads you out of the elevator and to the apartment you shared with him, he guides you inside and towards the couch. “I’m going to go boil the water, do you want a cup of tea?”
“Yes, please.” You whisper, he nods his head and moves towards the kitchen area which wasn’t far from the living area, while preparing the tea he continuously glanced in your direction, making sure that you were still on the couch, once he finished making the tea he made his way back to the couch carrying two cups of tea, he placed them down on the coffee table before settling down next to you, he reaches for your hand that was on your knee.
“Y/n…” He softly whispers, your lips part as you let out a sigh, your eyes not moving from the spot on the floor you were staring at. “Do you want to talk about it or tell me?”
“Do you…” You pause as you felt your heart clenching with pain. “Do you remember when I told you about… my horse I’ve had since I was a teenager?” He gently squeezes your hand, urging you to continue. “The call I received last night…” Jinki reaches with his other hand to wipe away the stray tear rolling down your cheek. “It was from my parents…” He nods his head, knowing what you were about to say. “They had to put her down.”
“Y/n… sweetheart.” He pulls you into him, your arms move to wrap around his shoulders as you begin to cry into his shoulder, he slowly rubs his hand up and down your back in a comforting manner, he held you as you sobbed into his shoulder, he knew how much you loved your horse and to hear the news about her sudden passing must have been a hard hit, even he felt a pinch in his chest, he held you like that while rubbing your back as you sobbed into his shoulder, not saying anything, because nothing he would say now would make you feel better, he knew that, he leans back on the couch, pulling you with him to almost lay on top of him as he comforts you, hours passed, and you had slowly calmed down before falling asleep on him, he had fallen asleep not long after you had and just as the sun was starting to rise.
The tea he had made was untouched and cold as the morning slowly passed with the two of you still on the couch asleep, it wasn’t until it was almost ten that he had woken up and carefully moved you off him and laid you down on the couch, you slightly stir in your sleep, he softly smiles before picking up the untouched tea and moving the cups to the kitchen, he reaches for his phone that was on the kitchen counter and sent a message to Minho, explaining to him what had happened and that he wouldn’t be able to make in for practice today.
“Jinki…?” You whisper as you lift your head to look around.
“I’m here.” He says as he places his phone down on the counter. “I’m going to make us a new cup of tea, but first I think you should shower.” You nod your head while he approached you. “Come on, I’ll go prepare the water, do you want to shower alone?” You sit upright and slowly stood from the couch.
“Can you please shower with me?” You ask as you made your way to the bedroom, with him behind you. “I don’t want to do it alone.”
“Of course, sweetheart.” He says, you enter the bedroom and begin removing your clothes while he went to the bathroom to open the water and let it warm up, you soon joined him in the bathroom just as he finished adjusting the water temperature, he quickly discards his clothes before taking your hand and leading you into the shower, the warm water hits your skin before you felt his arms wrap around you from behind, you stood like that underneath the water, letting the water droplets fall down on you and trickle down your skin before falling onto the tiled shower floor, you weren’t sure how long you stood there with him like that, but you remember feeling the water becoming cold before he dried you and helped you get dressed into comfortable clothes and helped you into the bed and tucked you in. “I’m going to get some water for you before you fall asleep.” You barely heard him before he disappeared from the room to get the glass, after he made sure that you drank at least some of the water he joined you underneath the covers and pulled you against him, letting you get comfortable before you drifted back to sleep with him rubbing your back.

There is a coat on the rack that you never wear.
"It doesn't fit anymore," you tell Jinki when he asks about it. Your fingers trace its beige lining, and tiny dimples from around your wistful smile. "But it's rather pretty, isn't it?"
Jinki nods, noting the nostalgic twinkle in your eyes. He wants to know what memory the coat evokes, but he forgets to ask when you fill the place by his side, having fit your arms through a newer maroon jacket, and lace your fingers through his. All thoughts about the beige coat are carried away by the autumn breeze.
Jinki's curiosity returns weeks later when his morning clumsiness causes the coat to land in a bundle at his feet. Were he the kind of person who mourns wasted time, he might curse himself as he squats to scoop the fabric into his arms. Were it not for his eerily calm demeanor, he might groan as he squats again to reach for the small folded paper that falls out of the coat's pocket.
Although he instantly recognizes the handwriting on the paper as yours, Jinki makes no effort to read it. As curious as he is, he does not think that his curiosity overrides your right to privacy. He hangs the coat on the rack, and he is just about to return the paper to its place when your voice sounds from the doorway.
"Unfold it," you urge, smiling when Jinki looks back at you. "Unfold it and read it."
Grateful for the invitation, Jinki nods. Within your notes, he finds the ticket stub from a movie you saw on one of your first dates. The note boasts, "The best person I have ever known held my hand today, and I will never forget it. I hope he never lets me go."
So that's why you keep the jacket, Jinki realizes, returning your smile, It helps you remember.
Jinki can't decide what to say first: that you are the best person he has ever known or that he will never let you go. Eventually, tracing his fingers along its beige lining, he starts with, "It really is a rather pretty coat."
sun shines through the sheer curtains, casting an unfortunate glare on your eyes and waking you up from your sleep. you can’t help but whine in disgust as the light blinds your sleepy eyes. you feel gentle arms wrap around your waist and tug you against his chest, successfully pulling you out of the sunlight.
“morning, baby,” jinki mumbles, pressing very lazy kisses to the crook of your shoulder and neck. his fingertips ghost under your shirt, tracing soft shapes on your skin.
“good morning,” you sigh in content, your eyes closing again as they’re saved from the bright sunshine.
“we need better curtains,” you half huff, unhappy about being woken, despite cuddling further into jinki’s chest and getting comfortable in his arms.
“we don’t if it means i can hold you like this every morning.”

Hi, for the drabble request could you do 47 with Onew? Your wonderful by the way ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pairing: Lee Jinki (Onew) x reader
Genre: fluff
Warnings: none
Word count: 728
As soon as Jinki stepped inside the apartment you had rushed to his side, barely letting him slip out of his shoes as you pulled him through the living space and over to the sofa. He was confused but that didn’t stop him from chuckling happily at seeing you after another long day at work. You were too busy to comprehend his greeting though, and he frowned. “What are you doing?”
“Just sit here,” you instructed, your hands smoothing down his clothes a little and then reaching up to his hair and doing that too. He pursed his lips together in thought; your attention was rather odd tonight.
Finally, you stopped and got up so you could examine your work, holding your hand up over your mouth thoughtfully for a moment before you grinned. “Oh-kay!”
“Okay?” he repeated with less enthusiasm and shifted in his position to relax. You hissed at him to remain still, and he numbly moved back to how you had placed him a moment ago, giving you a demanding gaze. It wasn’t like you to basically man-handle him without any explanation.
“I need you to smile.”
“Why?” he asked and you groaned loudly. Jinki was already cycling through important dates and other various information he held in his head. Nothing stood out to explain any of this. He had only wanted to do two things when he got home tonight – eat something with you and then go to bed. He hoped whatever this was wouldn’t take too long.
“Just smile!” you repeated, this time sounding a little impatient. “I really need to see you smile right now.”
He obliged with your request, smiling somewhat forcibly for whatever reason you needed. You sighed heavily. “Lee Jinki!”
“Well, you won’t tell me what this is for and I’m confused. How can I give you a genuine smile if you don’t tell me what’s going on?”
You nodded in response, raising your hand back to your face and tapping your index finger softly against your cheek. You then moved quickly, bending down so your face was level with his and before Jinki could think too much more about what you were doing, your lips softly found his. You kissed him tenderly and when you pulled back he couldn’t help but smile up at you, regardless of whatever antics you were up to.
“That’s it, hold that!” you cried excitedly, whipping your phone out and snapping a photo. You went back into view your efforts, grinning to yourself at it being successful. Once seated on the sofa again beside him, you showed him the photo. “Isn’t it great?”
“What is this for?” he wondered and you let out a little huff of air. Your cheeks coloured gently and Jinki couldn’t help but feel himself break out into another smile just looking at you be so endearing.
“Ugh, why couldn’t you just smile like that before I kissed you?” you whined, pouting playfully before you sighed again. “I wanted a picture of you smiling.”
“For what?”
“Just because.”
Jinki laughed at you, exasperated. “You have plenty photos of me smiling! Why couldn’t you just tell me?”
“I have plenty of photos of you being foolish and smiling or with me in it,” you corrected, staring down at your digital handiwork. Your finger slid gently over the screen as if the moment you had captured in time meant something important to you. His expression softened. “The only photos I have of you smiling alone are ones other people take of you from your work. I wanted to capture you like this so whenever you’re away I can pull this out and know I took it, I made you look this happy.”
He didn’t say anything for a moment, taking in your words before he enveloped you in a hug. “Have I ever told you just how adorably thoughtful you are?”
“Maybe a couple of times,” you said, feigning seriousness. You then nestled into his embrace happily. “But I’m glad you think so.”
“Just ask me next time,” he suggested and you lifted your head back up, Jinki shifting so his forehead was against yours. “Just tell me you need me to smile because you love me. I’d smile right away then.”
He kissed you passionately before slipping back to gaze at you lovingly. You grinned before nodding once. “Duly noted.”
i was in some serious soft hours for shinee when i wrote this, but it’s also dedicated to @corggos because without them, i wouldn’t love shinee nearly as much as i do today 🥰😔
jinki
jinki reminds of those kinds of lazy days that are actually productive, those days where you set out to do nothing but actually end up doing everything at a comfy and relaxing pace
he also reminds me of times where you smile so damn hard your face hurts, but you just can’t stop and it’s a never ending cycle until the moment passes
jinki reminds me of being responsible in a way you could never imagine until that responsibility is thrown on you and you have no idea what to do yet still manage to survive
he reminds me of nights spent watching documentaries on netflix, absorbing all kinds of useless yet interesting information
jonghyun
jjong reminded me of a fairy from the moment i laid eyes on him, he’s so impeccably gorgeous and has the cutest voice, his entire vibe screams soft, gentle garden fairy
he reminds me of that boy that you have a crush on, but he’s so stupidly sweet and nice that he never notices, or at least that’s what he’ll have you think
he reminds me of summer days where the weather is perfect and you can’t help but to stay out all day and go home smelling like actual sunshine
jjong is the embodiment of the statement, “don’t go to bed angry”
kibum
i love this man, but he gives off some big homebody vibes, he just likes to be in the comfort of his home with his puppies and call it a day, he’s not lazy though, it’s just more of him being comfortable being in his own area
he also reminds me of that fine line between thinking you’re okay and falling apart at any given moment, but also managing to balance between those super well with practice
kibum is going out with friends that you’re comfortable with and can have a good time with no matter what you’re going to do
but on the other hand, kibum is also going out and shutting down the moment a new person shows up because you don’t know them and how permanent they will be, earning you the reputation of being a bitch when you’re really just trying to protect yourself
minho
minho reminds me of going to the gym early in the morning or late at night, before the city is even awake or getting ready to go to bed, solely to have the place to yourself to ensure your focus is only on you for the two hours you’re there for your benefit
he also reminds me of stumbling onto a new show or movie by mistake and falling in love with the characters immediately, causing that show or movie to be your new obsession until something better comes along
minho reminds me of trying to try new food but giving up and sticking to your favorite standard dishes instead until someone forces you to try something new, only to find that new dish to be your new favorite
minho reminds me of taking a hike up a medium to high difficulty level trail just to see a sunset or sunrise on any given day, solely to appreciate the amount of time it effort it truly takes to get to experience real beauty
taemin
taems reminds me of college parties, literally anything could happen, you could very well forget everything you did, but still be pretty sure you had a great time
he also reminds me of late night conversations with someone you love, with soft whispers and light giggles while listening to the other person talk about whatever is on their mind
he reminds me of putting in all the effort to get to the level of perfection you are trying to achieve and that moment of self satisfaction when you actually achieve your goal
taems reminds me of being that person that is remembered by people for wildly different things to the point that people will get confused on if they are talking about the same person or not
“Moments like this remind me of why I chose this,” he says softly. Key looks at him squinting his eyes in confusion, “Moments of us just sitting around drinking coffee?” Minho glances at Key then Taemin, “It must be that old man age getting to him,” Minho chuckles out. Onew smiles in response “Must be, because, although, this is so simple it means so much. These are the moments I remember. Just us sitting in a coffee shop or at a restaurant. Moments when we don’t have to be together but choose to be together,” he laughs shaking his head. “Sorry, it really must be because I’m getting old,” he says rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, staring down at his cup. “Then I must be getting old too,” Key mumbles into his coffee loud enough for Onew to hear.
(Just a short fluff. I had a dream similar to the nightmare here last night and I wished I had a Jinki lol.)
[Sweat dripped relentlessly from your violently shaking body, your feet glued to the floor in horror as the rotting zombies began to surround you, each one with wide dark eyeballs staring at you. You tried to move but you were terrified; all you could do was scream at the top of your lungs. The creatures stretched out their repulsive hands, their decaying mouths drooling at the thought of human flesh. They were going to eat you alive. You screamed and screamed but no one was coming.
“Help! Help me please!”
You screamed and begged but you were all alone, lost in the night. They were so close now that their fingers touched your shoulder and you shrieked as the zombie shook your shoulder abruptly.
“(Y/N)!”
It cried with a croaky voice.
“(Y/N)! Wake up baby!”]
Your eyes opened, snapping out of dream world. All you could see was darkness. Fuck, it was just a nightmare. You let out a sob and a sigh of relief. Your body was covered in sweat, your throat aching in a state of shock. Remembering your dream, you held out your arms to feel...your boyfriend. It was your love, your heart warmed instantly.
“It was just a bad dream baby, that’s all it was. I’m here jagi.”
Jinki switched the bed side lamp on as he sat up, bringing you out of the darkness and though you were panting and sweating, he wrapped his warm arms around you, holding you close and cradling you.
“You gave me quite a fright baby. You were screaming again.”
He shook his head, sighing deeply. Softly, he swayed you side to side. His scent brought you back to reality; no zombies, no flesh eating demons, just your very worried partner.
“I’m so worried about you.”
He uttered, running his fingers through your hair, trying his best to calm you down. As you nuzzled in to his neck for more skinship, he kissed your check and then your forehead sweetly. His affection slowly began to make you feel better.
“I’ll never let anything hurt you. I’ll always be here. I love you so much.”
You were so incredibly thankful for your boyfriend, comforting you though he was tired and had to be awake early. In fact, their was only 4 hours left until Jinki had to wake up. However he didn’t care about all of that stuff as much as he cared about you. Honestly, he was getting scared sick about all of these nightmares you’d been getting. He was adamant to remind you that he’d never let anything touch his princess. Jinki let you out of his embrace, only to kiss your lips lovingly and hold your hands in his. The softness of his hands and plumpness of his lips still gave you butterflies. Knowing he was there and not going anywhere made you feel a lot better and surely, your body calmed, almost forgetting the bad dream. With adoring eyes, you watched your topless Jinki fluff both his and your pillows back up before motioning you to rest your head on his toned chest. Once more, he wrapped his safe, healing arms around you, guarding you from any harm.
“I’ll keep you safe baby. I’m right here. I love you so much.”
He whispered. Shortly after, he turned the light out and you dreamed of the most wonderful things thanks to your Knight in shining armour.
