Now a quick comparison between The Odyssey (2026) and Troy (2004)

Do i even need to say which ones were historically inaccurate and STILL managed to make the outfits look aesthetically pleasing, worn-in, and not make Agamemnon batman?

Troy's Agamemnon didn't wear this now, did he?

Yet he manages to sport an armor that doesn't look so.... Plastic and new and... Batmanish (I'm beating this dead horse DOWN you can't stop me). It feels lived-in (atleast to me).

Anyone whose rebuttal to the mid ass fashion design of The Odyssey is "there's a CYCLOPS in there" or "It's a myth anyway", I know everything I need to know about you.

Also Nolan himself (reportedly) said it's gonna be the most historically accurate adaptation and yet look at what we're dealing with here.

Edit: Also so much prop and none of them have the colors of the Mycenaean era WHYYYY

Since most (all) of my original characters are from the same time period (but different place), I couldn’t resist drawing some of them in a Pentiment-ish style.

Hi, I saw your post of your OCs drawn in Pentiment style and just wanted to make sure you were aware that Don Diego de Luna (more or less) shares a name with actor Diego Luna?

I realize this might be on purpose, so no worries if it is, but I felt like I should say something in case it wasn't.

(When I was a kid, I started writing a fantasy book about a practical tween girl I'd named Martha Stewart who found out magic was real on her 13th birthday, without realizing that the reason the name had ~such a ring to it~ was because of famous TV chef/interior design/lifestyle etc mogul Martha Stewart. So like... been there.)

Yes, I am aware of his existence and no, it isn’t on purpose. It is just the downside of naming my character a very common name with an already existing last name. 🤪

“de Luna” comes from a Spanish noble family from the Middle Ages/ modern period . I mainly gave him that name because it was pretty (Luna means Moon in Spanish).

At first it was a temporary name but I got too attached to it and now I don’t think I would be able to change it.
