Rasputin/Osiris and 36. to give up control
eehehe this was a fun one :3
"Ever wonder how much nicer your life would be if you weren't such an insufferable control freak?"
Rasputin looked up slowly from where he sat tapping away on a console aboard the beleaguered HELM. He'd offered to help run diagnostics after it's little incident and impromptu visit to the Tower, but no one had warned him about Osiris being involved as well. His eyes narrowed to fiery slits. That bastard Zavala had surely known better too.
He did this to him on purpose.
He hated that man.
Rasputin might have added a little of that second-hand ire into the glare he was aiming at the Warlock scowling at him from nearby. Did the man even hear himself? Was this some badly delivered joke? He'd laugh if he wasn't so cranky already.
"Really." Rasputin stood slowly from his station and turned to face Osiris, glaring. "Care to elaborate?"
"What's to elaborate?" Osiris approached, lip curled. "I am merely astounded that you'd stoop to such menial tasks as diagnostics on a clearly grounded vessel just so that you can get your meddling hands into every last little thing." Rasputin's eyes narrowed.
"Oh? Is that not what you're doing here as well?" Rasputin countered dryly. "I can handle such menial tasks, as you put it, without assistance. I'm assuming you'd rather be home with your...partners." Osiris frowned, and seemed to hesitate. Rasputin tipped his head slightly, curious. "Or am I mistaken? Is that quaint little home of yours getting crowded already?" A nasty little twist of acid seemed to roll over in Rasputin's chest. If things were souring with Osiris and his lovers, after all Felwinter had done and gone through for him, in spite of Saint's blind devotion, Rasputin thought he may resort to poor behavior on their behalf. "Hardly!" Osiris snapped, offended.
"Then go home, Osiris!" Rasputin declared, annoyed. And relieved his fleeting worries were null. "I have this covered." "Is that a kindness, I wonder, or are you simply so eager to be rid of me?" Osiris didn't move. "Both," Rasputin spat. "The men who love you did not traverse hell alone to be left behind while you bother yourself with busy work." Something like guilt flashed across Osiris' face, and he shuffled, uncomfortable, as he looked around, the conflict between duty and desire clear on his expressive face. Ah so he did care. "Furthermore, Zavala failed to inform me anyone else would be coming," Rasputin added, a little more softer. He was beginning to feel a little bad for dragging Felwinter and Saint into this little spat. It was a low blow to Osiris, and he paid them no honor using them against their love, regardless of what Rasputin thought of the man. Their fires suddenly guttering, the two simply stood and stared at one another for a minute, stuck.
"Go home, Osiris," Rasputin said again, much more quietly this time. "And enjoy having a home to go to." Osiris blinked, and his face softened. "Alright," he said, but stepped forward instead of away. Rasputin held his ground. "You win this round." What? Just like that? He's just going to- "Hey!" Rasputin lurched back incrementally, shocked when Osiris reached up, winding his arms around his shoulders, and leveraged himself up on the big Exo to lay a mere brush of a kiss, swift, but tender and electrifying, over Rasputin's mouth. "I'll leave it to you then," Osiris said, releasing him and stepping back. Rasputin reeled where he stood. He had to stop letting this happen. His entire face felt like it was vibrating. He had to make it stop. "You have my gratitude," Osiris finished, sauntering out the way he'd come. Rasputin watched him go, speechless. Say something. SAY SOMETHING. "You owe me," he blurted at last, just before Osiris disappeared through one of the few still-functioning doors. The Warlock vanished out of sight, but Rasputin could hear his bark of a laugh in his wake. "Perhaps."
