There’s an online rape community.
It’s organized.
It’s active.
And it’s teaching men how to rape and get away with it.
CNN just exposed networks where men are sharing tactics, coaching each other, and talking through how to avoid getting caught.
This didn’t happen in the dark. It happened in plain sight.
Emojis/emoticons are NOT equivalent to tone indicators and neither can replace the other. An imitation of a face, requiring interpretation, is not remotely interchangeable with either just saying what you mean in words or shortening it. Like yes the abbreviations do require learning to understand, but so do emojis and emoticons for many of us. Facial expressions are really really not intuitive for everyone, and yes this can extend to simplified text or cartoon imitations of them. Both have their place isn't it better to have more tools available for communication?
I'm a little old and I haven't posted regularly on tumblr in a long time, what's the etiquette with tags y'all? Is it rude to comment on posts now? Can you respond to tags and if so where?
I like to talk to people so please feel free to comment on my post or reply. I would prefer that personally. But I don't know how other people talk. Apparently some people are offended by punctuation now.

Don't be a dick online
As some of you may know, the new destiny season started a few days ago, and with the new season comes the new seasonal challenges. One of which is to run a co-op four-person versus four-person game mode called Gambit. Both teams have to deposit motes into a central bank area to summon a boss called a primeval and then ultimately defeat it. There are some more intricacies therein, but for this discussion thats, all that needs to be understood about this game mode. It’s also important to know that each player in every season gets a list of challenges designed to give seasonal experience to attain boosts and gear and emotes through their season pass ranking. One of the seasonal challenges for the new season is to complete a certain amount of gambit matches. So I go to queue for some gambit matches and think nothing of it much as I usually do.
I got paired with the worst teammates I have ever had for the five games I played today. You can probably see where I plan on going with this. Were going to be discussing why it’s crucial to be a team player in online games. Naturally, everyone has a story about them or someone they know joining an online game and being met with abuse, negativity, or all-around toxicity. I feel this comes from the sense of anonymity that comes from doing anything behind a screen name. I think it is imperative for the online community to understand that the internet is not a genuinely anonymous place and that there is always someone on the other side of your screen. This being said, the destiny community is relatively pleasant. I haven't had many negative experiences outside of new/younger players not fully understanding the game's mechanics, which is fine; however online game lobbies are renowned for their toxicity. This toxicity makes the space uncomfortable for many people, making the hobby less accessible for new or younger people trying to find an outlet for themselves and a new group of people to spend time with and enjoy themselves with. Toxicity is a pervasive culture in the online gaming space. It pushes people away from the hobby that would otherwise be potentially creating content, creating new games, or just generally enjoyable to have on your team as someone who just happens to get put into a lobby with them. I feel that this post is super important to write as we all become more connected through our hobbies. Dont be shitty; I understand that it’s a platitude but remember my two thoughts from earlier in the post one, there is someone on the other side of your screen; it's not just you screaming into a void that can respond. Everyone you meet online in a game lobby is a real person with real-life and real troubles, and ultimately you are never really anonymous. When you’re online, someone with the time and basic googling abilities could realistically find out who you are. This isn't baseless speculation either there are countless stories about players being doxxed, swatted, and hacked because they pissed someone who knew a little too much or had a little too much free time on their hands. The moral of this story is just to be good to each other in online spaces and treat people with humanity
Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.
Aristotle
There is QUALITY OF LEARNING - There is QUALITY OF THINKING
We may think, that we learn the same and in the exact same way. We may know a poem by heart, we may learn a mathematical calculations by learning educational knowledge containing different styles of solutions and ways of resolving a specific mathematical problem, and then we may learn politics and social sciences in order to think and re-think socio-political strategies. The quality of thinking is associated with the methodology of learning and the way we communicate the knowledge. There is certainly a type of thinking that is associated with an way we think and learn in the individual way, hence the Personal Theory of Mind is there to explain the diversity of specific and person-centred oriented
Think of your very own way of thinking - do not copy others.

Friendly Reminder:
Sometimes you will encounter aggressive people. It is not your job to calm them down. It is not your responsibility to fix someone else's mood. You do not exist to fix other people.
Take a step back from the situation and think about why they are bringing their aggressive feelings into your environment. Remind yourself that they control their own feelings and they then choose how to act based on their internal emotions. They are responsible for the way they treat you.
Healthy people do not take their aggression out on others. Healthy people express their frustration in a way that does not hurt others. Healthy people take the time to introspect and examine why they are acting aggressively so they do not hurt others in the future.
Before you engage in a discussion while upset with their perspective ask yourself:
Have they shown me the same level of kindness and respect I have given them
Have they taken the time to clearly express their point of view and are they now listening to what I have to say
Do I feel like talking with this person will benefit both of us in a positive way. Will we learn from this experience
Am I in a good mental head space to have a serious discussion with another person while managing my internal emotions
Are my emotions justified in this circumstance and will I agree with my opinions once I am calm
Am I typing this in a respectful manner that shows this person that I can have a calm discussion with them (No CAPS LOCK)
Will this discussion have consequences in the future if I were to say something I have not fully thought out
Would responding to this person lead to worsening the situation
Remember you do not have to change someone's mind. You are not obligated to convince them of your perspective. Educating people and informing them of the way you think takes a lot of mental time and effort.
Formulating thoughts and expressing them in an debate can be mentally draining so please step away if it becomes too much.
Dont waste it on someone who is not meeting your bare mimunim requirement levels of kindness and politeness. You don't have to tolerate that from others online. Block people if you feel like your mental health is being damaged by their actions.
