Miraculous Tales of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty Character(s) - Meet The Mains!

Here’s some info about our two main heroes from my MLB AU, Scarabella and Onyx Kitty, the “Ladybug” and “Chat Noir” of this world.

Alya Cesaire/Scarabella

Alya is the ladybug miraculous holder for this AU.

Marinette succeeded in passing on the Ladybug miraculous to Alya, because she believes that Alya is a better fit. She sneaks it in her bag like in the original.

Since there’s an official alter ego for Ladybug!Alya (Scarabella), I decided to use it for this AU.

Alya’s Ladybug suit is mostly the same, but it has slight modifications. Might draw it up one day.

Alya doesn’t know that Marinette gave her the miraculous, but Marinette does know that Alya is Scarabella.

Alya is more at ease in giving out the miraculous than Marinette is in the canon series. This most likely become a problem in the story in the future.

Nino is still Alya’s love interest in this AU, but they never date. Alya has some interest in Nino, but Nino without a doubt has a crush on her. However they both respect each other’s wishes to be friends and that’s what they are.

Despite Tikki’s feelings for her previous holder (Marinette), her and Alya get along very well. They both support each other a lot and see one another as sisters.

Tikki actually sees Alya as a peculiar, but interesting and fun type girl who does believe that she is responsible enough and fit for the ladybug miraculous.

Tikki still likes sweets and baked goods in this universe and will take it for her charge up food, but she will he ok with mostly anything, since Alya’s mother IS a chef.

In Reflecta 2, Alya’s name as Onyx Kitty (Chat Noir) is Cleocatra.

Chloe Bourgeois/Onyx Kitty

Chloe is the cat miraculous holder in this AU.

First thing’s first: Chloe WILL get a redemption arc. However, like all redemption arcs, it will take time. Won’t be long, but won’t be fast either.

Scarabella and Adrien will be big factors in Chloe’s redemption, especially as Scarabella.

In the beginning, Chloe was her usual self, but as time goes on, Chloe starts to change, having positive role models in her life (Scarabella and Adrien) and even losing some things (Sabrina).

Chloe will start out as a regular Scarabella fan, but will grow to have a crush on her.

With that said, Chloe will still have her crush on Adrien still intact.

Chloe’s favorite miraculouses outside of the cat are the bee, dragon and tiger. She’s also in love with the powerups.

Chloe’s ballerina, yoga and dance lessons really pay off in this AU. She’s a very skilled hero in this AU.

Similar to canon, around the beginning of the series, Andre will have a gym build for Chloe due to Chloe’s wishes.

With this said, Chloe will start having self defence lessons too.

Because she’s Onyx Kitty in this AU, Chloe’s a bit stronger physically, in and out of hero form.

Chloe isn’t as pressed in keeping her identity a secret as Scarabella and other heroes are. However, even if there were times she did thought about letting “the cat out of the bag” (lol), she kept her secret for Scarabella and the other’s safety. Though there are many times she did thought about revealing her identity to Scarabella.

Plagg and Chloe have…an interesting relationship. They see other as that “annoying but caring older sibling”. Chloe with Plagg’s cheese addiction and laziness at the incorrect times, Plagg with Chloe’s conceitedness, sometimes cruel behaviour and sharp tongue. However, it’s very clear that they do care for each other. They both know it, even though they try to deny it lol

Plagg’s main favorite food will always be cheese (especially Camembert), but he also really likes sushi, like Chloe. So he does accept that as a power up food. 

Chloe’s not too big of a cat person, but she does act like a cat lol Heck, she even likes her Kwami, who’s a cat!

In Reflecta 2, Chloe’s name as Scarabella (Ladybug) is Scarlet Beetle.

In this AU, Marinette and Chloe still do dislike each other like in the canon at first, but as time goes on, they come to respect each other. Not quite friends, but Chloe doesn’t bully Marinette as much as in the canon.

Chloe is allergic to cat fur, which could explain her being indifferent on cats.

The “Love and Hate” Square

The love and hate square is different than the love square from the canon show.

Chloe and Alya hate each other’s guts, especially at first.

Onyx Kitty and Alya are funny. Onyx Kitty likes to playfully tease Alya and gloat to her face about having to save her occasionally.

Scarabella and Chloe are basically the same as Onyx Kitty and Alya’s interactions, but a bit different. Scarabella has that “superiority complex” like Onyx Kitty has, but a bit more toned down. And Chloe? She’s totally loving every minute of it, even if she denies it 😏 For the most part though, Scarabella is a “on task” kind of hero. So it’s very little nonsense she will take from bratty Chloe in one sitting.

Now we get to the wholesome part of the love and hate square in my opinion: Scarabella and Onyx Kitty. At first, they get off to a rocky start (they still are Alya and Chloe after all). However, over time they start to get well-acquitted and work together quite well. After that, Onyx Kitty starts to form a crush on Scarabella and she inspires Onyx Kitty a lot.

Onyx Kitty trusts Scara a lot and will jump at her side in a heartbeat. The feelings are mutual for Scarabella, but sometimes she knows that her partner is a little bit too headstrong and irrational in her thinking at times, so she has a bit of trouble with entrusting her with somethings.

Also, for a while, it will be debatable if Scara loves Kitty as a friend or as something more.

Miraculous: Tales of Scarabella And Onyx Kitty - Season 1 - Episodes 1 + 2

Note: Please know that one or both of these episodes can or will be rewritten to blend in with the premise of this AU. Compare to canon, some things might be changed barley, drastically or completely replaced with an original episode idea.

Origins of Stoneheart (Episode 1)

The introduction of the miraculouses & Hawkmoth stay the same, but Master Fu’s (plus Wayzz) is a bit different.

Rather than choosing random kids right off the bat to be Ladybug & Chat Noir (Marinette & Adrien), it has been confirmed that Master Fu has been watching not only Marinette and Adrien, but countless of people for years just in case if he needs someone to take his place as guardian. With his best judgement, he came to the conclusion that Marinette and Adrien are the best suitable choices for the ladybug and cat miraculouses.

This is why Master Fu is a bit more confident in giving out the other miraculouses later on in Sapotis.

There’s more reasons why Master Fu choosed to give miraculouses to two teens other than their personalities and heroic traits, but that’s something I have to explain later.

Wayzz considered Fu’s long time friend, Jazz (my oc), as a possible option for help, but Fu figured that the best option would be to give the Miraculouses to a pair that’s more youthful.

Most of the events that transpired in episode 1 stayed the same, but it's more in Alya's point of view than Marinette's.

Instead of the second scene starting with Marinette's morning, it starts with Alya's and her family.

The episode also shows Chloe’s morning.

Some scenes in this episode (like Marinette helping Master Fu cross the street, Adrien helping Master Fu up, etc.) still happened, but some scenes aren’t shown.

Just because I didn’t like what the original did, both Ivan AND Kim are sent to the principal’s office.

Before stoneheart is born, Kim does try to explain to Ivan that he was just joking around with him, but Ivan wasn’t having it.

I want to try to make Natalie a little more understanding and sympathetic towards Adrian‘s feelings in this AU. She will still make bad choices and judgement when it comes Adrien (similar to Gabriel), but I want it to be known that Natalie does care for Adrien in her own way (and before you say it, even though it doesn’t matter, yes, bad people still can care about someone while still making bad decisions). So when Gabriel scolds Adrien, Natalie shows actual concern and sadness when Adrien does. Which is why she says “we could stop here today if you want to” before Adrian runs away, to ease the tension and pain of the situation.

Most of the scenes with the introductions of Ladybug and Chat Noir are cut short, replacing part of those scenes with Alya and Chloe simultaneously. 

The LB, CN, and Alya v.s. Stoneheart scene stayed mostly the same.

Like the original, Marinette gives up the Ladybug miraculous, but she actually manages to give it to Alya next episode.

In this AU, Adrien in fact hasn’t given up on his destiny as Chat Noir just yet, but he still does put the ring back in the box that it came in.

Origins of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty (Episode 2)

The beginning scene showing Marinette talking to her dad about the Stoneheart situation is replaced with Alya talking to Nora. Nora gives a similar speech like Tom’s to Alya, but of course it’s a bit different.

Alya worries about the situation at hand and whether if Ladybug and Chat Noir will be able to take care of it. She also wishes there was something that she can do.

Some scenes with Marinette/Adrien alone are even cut short or cut completely and replaced with Alya and Chloe scenes.

Alya instead tells Marinette the idea of creating a blog dedicated to the new Ladybug super-heroine, but she doesn’t actually go through with it yet.

Little minor details, but notice how Juleka is a little more energetic in the earlier episodes compared to later episodes of the series where she’s more shy? I like shy characters just because I can relate to them, but I want to keep that 50/50 with Juleka. She’s shy sometimes, but sometimes she’s a little more expressive with her feelings. 

The Chloe v.s. Alya scene is still intact of course.

Marinette proceeds to slip the Ladybug miraculous in Alya’s bag like in the original. However, the scene is extended a little, with Alya talking about how great it would be to be a superhero. Marinette also adds something along the lines like “Are you sure you are capable tho?” Which Alya finds strange, but is sure she will do just fine.

Chloe sticks gum on Alya’s seat instead of Marinette’s (I just think it makes a little more sense). However Marinette is still a little distrust for Adrien because 1). The misunderstanding of Adrien putting gum on her new best friends’s seat, and 2). he’s friends with Chloe.

Ivan proceeds to turn into Stoneheart. Mylene gets kidnapped, but Marinette gets kidnapped instead of Chloe. This is because Ivan sees her before he sees Chloe in THIS AU and he’s mad with her for telling him “bogus advice”.

Alya takes her bag in this AU.

Chloe manages to get Adrien’s bag in hopes of returning it, because Chloe NEEDS to be a better friend who actually shows concern about her best friend darn it! 😑 (and no, I’m not only using this as a excuse for Chloe to take his bag lmao). She actually is concern about where Adrien goes btw.

Marinette tries to talk Stoneheart out of it with no success. Regardless, she tells Mylene that all will be ok.

On her way to the scene, she cuts an alleyway and trips, causing all of her contacts in her bag to spill. While picking up her things, it happens.

She sees the strange hexagon box in front of her. She picks it up and opens it, while wondering what it is. As she sees a pair of Ladybug earrings, a little creature comes out the miraculous in the box, revealing Tikki once again.

Tikki does question the situation, soon realizing what’s happening. Marinette has passed on her Miraculous to Alya. Tikki is sad about Marinette’s decision, but she still explains the situation to Alya, without giving away the original holder’s identity. Tikki still hopes that Marinette made the right choice to give her miraculous to Alya.

Alya already picked up on the basics of the Miraculous and finally transforms into the Ladybug super-heroine.

Alya hasn’t thought of a superhero name yet. She even tries to think of all of the possible names that she can give herself, like in the original. lol

Chloe meanwhile is home taking shelter.

Chloe complains like her average self. She searches her phone to try to call her father, but as she does, she realizes she’s searching the wrong bag, but she then finds a hexagon shaped box.

Curious, she opens it, revealing a black ring. A little creature comes out the miraculous in the box, once again revealing Plagg.

“Plagg: WHO THE HECK ARE YOU???”

“I should be asking that question! What are you, a cat??? Rat??? A CatRat!?!?”

Plagg eventually explains the situation to Chloe.

Chloe wasn’t originally going to go, but wanting to be part of the action, wanting to fill her ego, and to prove that she can be a better superhero than the previous “losers”, she goes to the scene and tries to stop Stoneheart herself.

She transforms into the new cat hero, Onyx Kitty. Chloe came with the name quickly.

Ladybug! Alya is on her way to the scene, but along the way, she sees Onyx Kitty in trouble.

After she frees her, they both flee. However, Ladybug! Alya doesn’t get a warm thank you for her heroic efforts. She gets a rude “Hmh. That’s at least you COULD do. Who are you anyway? Doesn’t seem like that you’re that ladybug “super zero” that everyone was gushing over before.”

Ladybug! Alya of course didn’t even know what to call herself yet, so Onyx Kitty made fun of her for it. Of course is already irritated with her and her remarks.

So from that point forward, their interactions with each other goes just as you expect it. Onyx Kitty does try to take hold of the situation and get over on Ladybug! Alya, but of course she’s not having it. Of course Onyx Kitty is annoyed by this, but deep down, she also feels something from the bug’s assertiveness. She doesn’t really know what this “feeling” is though nor knows what it means.

Ladybug! Alya explains that to stop Stoneheart, they have to go to the source. Onyx Kitty doesn’t necessarily “follow” her, she’s following where Stoneheart is in fears of being out due by this “Beetle Flop”.

We arrive at the Eiffel Tower, where everything is taking place. Andre demanded Stoneheart to let go of the two girls. So he does, by giving up only Marinette and throwing her.

Ladybug! Alya comes in just in time to catch her. Marinette’s in awe by the new ladybug superhero. And yes, even though that she doesn’t know for sure, she automatically knows that it’s Alya.

Roger’s scolding to the ladybug hero is the same, because he thinks that it’s the same Ladybug.

Surprisingly, Onyx agres with the cop, but promises to handle things by herself for now on and save Paris on her own. This upsets Ladybug! Alya.

Marinette is the one that gives Ladybug the speech in this AU. She basically says that Ladybug gave her the earrings for a reason, and that she believes in her and her abilities. Marinette’s encouraging words gave her the strength to fight.

Hawkmoth’s speech stays the same, but Ladybug! Alya is the one that makes the promise of protecting Paris instead (and yes, she only makes that promise. Not including Onyx Kitty.).

In this speech, she finally declares her name: Scarabella.

“Onyx Kitty: Wow, whoever that is behind that mask, she’s a big show off! I hate her.”

The catching of the akuma butterflies & and Stoneheart attacking stays the same for the most part.

Scarabella: “ONYX KITTY, get Mylene! I’ll take care of Ivan!”

Onyx Kitty: “Don’t tell me what to do!” (*does proceed to catch Mylene*)

Scarabella uses her Miraculous Ladybug to heal everything and the day is saved! Plus Hawkmoth tells his basic cheesy monologue about succeeding next time bah bah bah.

The Ivan and Mylene scene goes about the same, much to Onyx Kitty’s disgust.

Even though Scarabella tries to be nice, wishing Onyx Kitty a job well done for the efforts she DID do, Onyx Kitty’s still being a bitch lol

Nadia quickly arrives on the scene to bum rush Scarabella and Onyx Kitty with questions. Onyx Kitty tries to hog up all the spotlight, but Scarabella points out that she’s trying to transform back, much to Onyx’s dismay. 

 The conversation between Marinette and Alya goes a bit differently. Alya still deciding whether if she wants to make a blog, but asks Marinette to help her.

Gabriel still let’s Adrien go the school like the original. Natalie smirks a little in secret after Adrien leaves the car.

Alya helps Marinette to get the confidence to take her seat back. Chloe complains about it, but with the help of Alya standing up to Chloe too, Marinette finally stands up also.

Similar to the original, Marinette still refuses to talk to Adrien.

The rain/umbrella scene goes mostly the same, but Marinette doesn’t fall for him. Adrien does though.

Master Fu is worried about the situation that transpired before him. Even though disappointed in how everything turned out, he still has some hope that everything will turn out fine.

Scarabella-Bee

Onyx Kitty-Fox

Bumble Bee 🐝

- Bumble Bee’s very similar to Scarabella: Agile, witty, fast thinker and always ready.

- Her fighting style is pretty much the same as Scarabella, but she adds a little more “STING!” to her moves! This IS the bee miraculous after all 😄

- She’s a big fan is this miraculous because it’s another miraculous with a huge benefit to it. It gets the job done quicker and it’s very handy.

- Alya and Pollen are on good terms! Though Alya does question Pollen’s submissive attitude, she knows that she means well and it’s a form of respect. Alya of course treats Pollen well in return, even jokingly referring to her as “my queen” too.

- Scarabella’s fusion name with the bee would be Scarabee.

Compatibility Score: 9/10

Jinx 🦊

- Chloe’s more mischievous, sneaky and willing to fight on the sidelines as Jinx.

- Quick as a fox. Nuff said 😉

- Chloe loves this miraculous a lot! It can fit into her sometimes mischievous and sneaky nature. It allows her to blend into the background and she can pounce at the right time. It’s more in her favor than the snake is.

- Trixx likes her. She does have traits that outweigh her flaws in this AU. The feelings mutual when it comes to Chloe liking Trixx. They’re an chaos duo lol

- Onyx Kitty’s fusion name with the fox would be Mischief.

For Scarabella & Onyx Kitty fans, I actually wrote out episodes 1 and 2 already! Actually, it’s been about 90% done for a while now. I just need to do a couple of things:

Do some finishing touches.

Read over it and see if there’s any changes that I want to make or add.

Due to the second half being longer, I might decide to add a 3rd part instead.

I want to make sure everything makes sense.

Besides those things, my Scarabella & Onyx Kitty version of the episodes are almost done! After that, I planned to start working on the first half of season one and put out some more content of the AU!

Miraculous Tales of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty - Original Characters

Christopher “Chris”/Dance Breaker/Omega

A punk, loner and delinquent teen who moved from Britain to Paris to live with his aunt and uncle, to get a fresh start from his problems at home.

Yes, he will get character development.

He just turned 16. He failed a grade.

He has a very blunt and honest mouth.

He has a crush on Marinette, but he dislikes Adrien because of his own dislike for spoiled rich kids.

So you have may guessed, he dislikes Chloe too due to being one of those rich kids.

Though still wary of him, Alya and Chris are on respectful terms.

Alya decides to give Chris the benefit of the doubt due to Marinette’s wishes.

He’s into punk fashion, street art and street dancing.

He’s in Ms. Mendeleiev's class.

He appears in “season 2”.

His akumatized form is Dance Breaker.

He occasionally possesses the wolf miraculous, becoming the wolf-themed superhero, Omega.

Jean Duparc/Magician of Misfortune/Bat Magician

Magician of Misfortune will most likely become an actual episode.

Jean will become a more in-depth actual character that will appear in the series sometimes.

Jean's heart and soul is into magic, but he's not very good at it.

He's in Ms. Mendeleiev's class.

He always tries to impress his parents in anyway that he can.

He occasionally possesses the bat miraculous, becoming the bat-themed superhero, Bat Magician.

Jeanie Raincomprix/Honest Queen/Miss Apex

She's Sabrina's cousin.

She's the same age as Sabrina.

She's the opposite of Sabrina; blunt, thick-skinned, honest, but confident and perky.

She's one inch taller than Sabrina.

Her and Sabrina don't have the best relationship, but ultimately gets close as time goes on.

She's in Ms. Mendeleiev's class.

Though outspoken, she has a hard time making friends.

She has 8 younger siblings. She's the oldest.

Sabrina and 7 of her siblings wear glasses. She does not.

She occasionally possesses the leopard miraculous, becoming the leopard-themed superhero, Miss Apex.

Ronald “Jazz” Martin

He's a close friend to Master Fu.

He's short, but taller than Fu.

He knows that Master Fu is/was the guardian of the Miraculous.

He is gay and has feelings for Fu.

He's really old like Fu, but a bit younger than him.

He’s a retired jazz singer.

He met Fu a few years after he and Marianne was separated.

He has worn a miraculous before. Still deciding which one.

I was thinking about making him the guardian of the fan made miraculouses that I’ve made.

Israel Corbin

He's Sabrina 18 year old half older brother.

He currently stays with his mother in Brazil, but I do plan for him to make an appearance.

He's intelligent, like Sabrina.

He’s sweet, but well-reserved.

He loves and cares for his little sister.

Annabella/Dark Swan/Flaminga

She use to attend the same ballet classes as Chloe, so they’re old acquaintances/classmates.

She’s a professional ballet dancer now.

Though seem prim, she’s anything but in reality. Basically, she’s like another Chloe.

She’s pretty on the outside and presents herself as a sweet and innocent angel, but deep down, she can be manipulative, cunning, brutally honest and snobbish.

Yes, she’s like this, but like with Chloe, she’s not like this for no reason.

Will she get a redemption arc? We’ll see.

She attends the same school as Kagami and Ondine, so she sometimes seen wearing the same uniform as Kagami.

She’s half Korean.

Her Akumatized form is Dark Swan.

In the future, she will temporarily hold the Flamingo miraculous, which will turn her into the flamingo-themed superhero, Flaminga.

Scarabella-Mouse

Onyx Kitty - Horse

Multiplex 🐭

- Not much changes as Alya transforms into Multiplex, compared to Scarabella. She’s cunning and witty as always, and goes with the flow of the miraculous. She does her thing and uses the special ability to get her job done.

- Again, her fighting style is basically the same as Scarabella, though she’s a bit more quicker.

- Alya sees this as another miraculous to use for the situation that calls for it. Nothing else. She doesn’t love it, but doesn’t hate it.

- Mullo usually likes to goof around, even in serious situations. Usually Alya has to remind him of the situation at hand. Besides this, they get along fairly.

- Scarabella’s fusion name with the mouse would be Multidox.

Compatibility Score: 6/10

Marenificent 🐴

- Her personality doesn’t change much to be honest.

- Marenificent’s fighting style is almost the exact same as Onyx Kitty’s. Though she might be quicker and swift.

- Chloe has no real problem with the horse, but it wouldn’t be her first choice. She thinks the shades are cool, but everything else? First of all, what on EARTH are them colors!? And the design???

- Kakki desires class, elegance, someone glorious and famous, and Chloe…somewhat fits this description. Kakki favors Chloe’s fashion style and her life style. They both have standards. However, Chloe’s sharp tongue and blunt personality can sometimes bother Kakki. Chloe for the most part has no real problem with Kakki.

- Onyx Kitty’s fusion name with the horse would be Catnificent.

🐞Miraculous: Tales of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty🐈‍⬛

I would like to finally introduce you guys to one of my AUs that I’m working on, Miraculous Tales of Scarabella & Onyx Kitty. It’s a fan series based on Miraculous Ladybug and created by me.

Instead of Marinette and Adrien getting the ladybug & cat miraculouses respectively and keeping them, Alya & Chloe become the holders of the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses by different circumstances. While Master Fu was wary about this (especially with Onyx Kitty), he soon realizes that things might not have went as planned, but it doesn’t mean that it will turn out to be a bad thing.

So now, we will follow the adventures (and even misadventures) of Scarabella, Onyx Kitty and many other characters.

Here are some of the main changes:

I’m going to make this clear now: Chloalya (Chloe x Alya) are the main pair in this AU and will most likely be endgame.

This AU is based on the earlier fan theories by fans of a possible Alya/Rena Rouge & Chloe/Queen Bee romance. However, instead of Rena Rouge & Queen Bee, it’s Scarabella (Ladybug! Alya) & Onyx Kitty (Cat! Chloe).

Ladybug! Alya’s hero design is based off her Scarabella design from the canon show.

Alya/Scarabella & Chloe/Onyx Kitty are both getting focus.

Instead of a love square, there’s a “love and hate square” between Alya/Scarabella and Chloe/Onyx Kitty. The 4 pairs of the square are Chloalya, Chlobella, AlyaKitty, and ScaraKitty.

Some characters will have different miraculouses compared to the canon.

Marinette & Adrien will be secondary heroes. Marinette will be given the fox miraculous (Foxenette) by Scarabella and Adrien will be given the bee miraculous (King Bee) by Onyx Kitty.

Marinette & Adrien’s love square is still there, but it’s a bit less focused on and different. Adrien likes Marinette, but Marinette likes King Bee.

Carapace will also be a secondary hero and his role in the series will be a bit similar to Luka’s in the canon.

There will be original characters and original akumatized victims.

Some episodes may mostly be changed, somewhat changed, slightly changed, or be replaced all together.

I’m going to rewrite these episodes into post, breaking each season into two parts.

so what made Fu choose Chloe this time?

He didn’t. I may have vaguely explained this (sorry about that), but Chloe gotten Adrien’s miraculous by mistake. I’ll explain it more in a post filled with the altered episodes.
