something to be said about how connor finds it so deeply attractive that hudson was a jock and knows how to fight and him mentioning it at everyone chance he can get 1. to remind ppl that hudson is a jock and he's not 2. remind people he knows things about hudson. like him prompting the question about how many concussions hudson's had and being deeply unphased by the answer but jacob is so shocked. something also to be said about how hudson characterizes that part of him as something he did to be "one of the guys" but he'll still pull out that part of him to show off for connor ergo showing off his skills at the arcade while he gives him his phone. something something masculinity and how they both envy each other's relationship with it.
That last line really is it, isn’t it. I am getting closer to the things I think make them anxious and insecure and it kind of circulates around the same thing, where they each think the other has to exact thing they wish they had. Relationship to masculinity, art, other people, their industry, etc.
