😞 a disappointed voicemail
"hey, jeeves. are you alright? you've never... not shown up to any of my performances before." a pause, then a deep inhale before a loud exhale. "okay, i don't want to sound entitled because obviously you have the choice to not show up if you don't want to. but i had reserved a ticket for you and everything..." her throat clearing and some sniffling. "anyway just uh, call me back. i hope you're not like... laying dead in a ditch somewhere."
I hate being alone but at least when I'm by myself it's not as glaringly obvious that there's something fucking wrong with me
Come along Take my hand I’ll lead you to the dying-land Circles of pain Telling our way Dante made maps for us Laugh as you can
Come away from the light My unshining knight For hope pains the eyes Of the damned
The music our collisions make A cacophany of snarls, Whetted arrogance, and tears
How can God take and make The screams of rage and ache Into beauty? Into songs for perfect ears?
You keep using those words I do not think You say what you think you do I do not think They see what you think you are The world-woes cannot be fixed By a fallen, screaming scar No matter how cunning-quick its neurons fire By some gifted trick of natural wire
But carry on And lay a stone Of finest-masoned intent Into a road so overpeopled with The spent and empty Sick and broken Proud unwoken crowd And say your civic duty’s done
I’ll pray that it is, For miracles abound. Let God turn up the stone’s lip To catch a wayward toe On the well-worn path to hell’s shores
Bless the folly and the fallen, Blessed be the fools. May their cap-bells whisper warnings and their capers carry meanings to confound the cunning.
Let the sword heal. Let the chistle strike away a blemish without marring the vision
You worked hard. You gave it all. You rose up in your ranks the best you could-- but you were set up for failure. It was cruel. You don't know who to be mad at. Nova and God for letting this happen, Whitney, for making you do all this for your eventual corruption, or yourself, for thinking things would ever go your way. The jingle in your orb was replaced with a hollow sound. You were tempted to crush it with your feet and die right then and there. It would have been easy! And in this storm, no one would know. But you couldn't. There was an off-chance Nova would Forgive you. Then maybe you could live life in the normal misery you live in. Maybe it's best you don't get Forgiven. Why make us, then? If we're just going to corrupt, you wondered. If we're not meant to happen, then why am I standing here? Why is Whitney here? Why is Thyme here? You hurled your orb and necklace into the meadow, watching it vanish into the rain and grass. Bile rose up in your throat, and pain shot through your body, leaving you feeling weak, like it did the first time you left your orb away. It would come back on its own, you knew that much, but for now, you kind of enjoyed this feeling of breathlessness. You would black out and your being would be back in your pouch, with the protective cage and everything. What a nightmare.
O.o
I’ll generate a number and my muse will react to your muse telling them something they probably don’t want to hear.
41 - “Get. Out.”
"R-Rose?" he said, eyes wide. "Wha'- wha's the matter?"
is it really too much to ask for someone to like me back
