I have this though that had the massacre not happened Sasuke would be so so much more gentle with Naruto, like they would fight and get angry, but seeing how absolutely smiley and quiet Sasuke was as a child I don't doubt he, with proper interactions, would start to trow the 'rival' label out of the window and actually try to just be there with Naruto. I think people forget that even with family Sasuke is extremely introvert and doesn't care about people outside of his family and clan so (1)

I’m so with you though!!! He was such a positive little kid. I love thinking about how he’d still keep his core quiet, introverted nature while actually having like...a good childhood. I absolutely cannot move past the idea of him being super jealous at all the attention Itachi gets and loving it when Naruto shows him that attention instead (thereby making their acknowledgement through rivalry dynamic still alive in this AU?). He would definitely be much softer though. Can you imagine Naruto going to his house & them helping Mikoto cook? my god. my heart.
