im at violin class rn and I kind of want to cry. so there was this student who also played the violin, and I've only met him once on a Friday class a few months ago (there are usually no classes on Friday). he was pretty quiet but really, really nice. and he was playing He's a Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. And the teacher was giving him a bunch of shit cuz he was playing it wrong and stuff and the teacher got mad. I didn't see the kid after that (he never finished the piece), but it wasn't because of the teacher's storm-off. a few weeks later they told me he had been diagnosed with leukemia and was gonna get sent to a hospital out of town and would most likely wouldn't return to classes. just yesterday they told me he passed away.

but that's not the thing!!!! a few weeks ago, a new student joined into the academy, an adult woman. I didn't find it weird, seeing as it was January and a bunch of adults had came in for only a few classes, as part of their new year's resolution that was given up almost immediately after starting, I suppose. but she stuck around. she still came to classes and seemed actually passionate about playing the violin. she would practice hard every class, even though I always saw her checking her smartwatch, I infer for messages from or about her job. She's told us of her adventures around the country and of all the stuff she's done, and she just seems overall like an outgoing and joyous person. just now she finsihed Baa Baa Black Sheep, which is kind of a ritual the teacher has: if you get past that piece, you can pick the next song you're gonna play. and she got up from her seat and immediately went up to the tv of the room and started looking for the song she'd play. you'll never guess what she picked.... "HE'S A PIRATE". FROM PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. THE SONG THE STUDENT NEVER GOT TO FINISH PLAYING. she never met him and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know who he is or that he wanted to play that song. Wich make this 10 times more insane.

i did not realize that the hd single episodes also cut out a lot of the end of episode fade to black jokes that the original show had. i… i’m really going to have to edit all of those back in for a definitive rvb experience huh.
