Send 🧸 to see a memory from my muse's childhood.

Holly tried so hard as a kid to relate to her mother. She loved her, and they spoke a lot but her and her dad were just kindred spirits, you know? Same person, practically.

But, one thing she is so glad she learnt from her Mother is crochet. Remembers sitting with her on the sofa, balls of wool between them with the tv playing. Talking about everything and nothing all at once.

I think Holly had it real good, growing up. The Bankses didn't have much but they had love, which made them truly rich. Which made losing everything so hard.

Over the years its become a bit of an emotional crux. A self regulator habit when she's ready to blow a casket.

Maybe she talks to herself about her day or problems on the sofa when she's crocheting and wondering if there's a presence on the other side of the sofa, sipping tea and offering comforting words before interrupting with a scoff.

waiting for a phone call that doesnt come when youve scheduled it is the stupidest anxiety inducing

and whats even worse is reading an email feeling like this bc my program director responded to my feedback email, within two hours even wow.

and im still like THANKS I HATE IT about assignments but alas i have made my feedback known

the way the grading system works in the usa vs the uk breaks my brain as someone from the usa going to grad school in the uk well as long as im not failing the program it’s alright 😂😂😂

im not enjoying the assignments and i think it’s dumb that when i suggested we have more clear instructions like maybe a template he said that we wont have that in the real world and grad school prepares you for the workforce this is majorly paraphrasing but i think it’s a neurodivergence thing to want clearer instructions
