Solomon was a god who just like all the others held jurisdiction over certain qualities the mortals cherished. His happened to be ruling over anything peace related. He'd listen to the woes of mortals and how they begged and prayed for his guidance. He'd see them sacrifice anything to worship at his feet. To remotely touch him in all his glory. Fighting over one another to have this one chance with him.
It was primal. It was disgusting. No mortal ever truly satisfied him enough. However, he wasn't immune to their charms and would often find someone to warm his lavish bed. But he'd abandon them once it was all done and he'd go back to doing his responsibility. A rinse and repeat cycle that drove some mortals crazy with a yearning for more. It was terribly inhumane but he didn't care. At least until he met you.
He first noticed your presence amongst all the other mortals who made their pathetic attempts to woo him at his temple. It was strange seeing you stare at him with curious eyes even if you hardly said a word. Most of them were too afraid to look up at him and the ones who did were too confident and cocky they'd end up being cursed. You, on the other hand, only stared for a few seconds before leaving as if there was something more important than a god.
It irritated him more than he'd want to admit. He didn't know why when he had all these obnoxious mortals flocking to his feet, begging for a chance yet you weren't one of them. Maybe it was injured pride at not being deemed pretty enough or the fact you never spoke a word to him. Nonetheless, he started to keep an eye on you. It wasn't hard to keep track. You were one of the more faithful mortals. Worshiping those you ideally looked up to with only the best of his growing crops and the finest of animals.
He'd stare from afar watching you go on about your life without a care in the world. Seeing the way you'd weave your way among the other mortals' lives with such joy and liveliness. Maybe that's why he was so upset. You weren't the one giving him attention. Not in the way he wanted it. Oh how he craved for it. It ached and burned his insides to not have something he wanted so he devised a plan to get it. Something that would make you fall down on your knees and give him what he wanted.
The next time you went outside to begin your chores you'd see Solomon waiting for you. You saw how he was palpably sweating as he nervously smiled at you. It was strange for a god or anyone in particular for that matter to be awake so early in the morning and at your doorstep no less. Maybe if you ignored him then he'd go away.. only it didn't work out in the way you wanted. Solomon was still there waiting for you. He followed you everywhere you went. Copied everything you were doing. At some point he even tried helping you out! It was extremely weird to endure but he managed.
Solomon, on the other hand, only grew more impatient as he stared at this mortal. This mortal who had no clue on his wants. How could he not understand that he wanted attention?! That he was patiently desiring it. He even helped you out with your duties yet no sign of a thank you?! It was preposterous! Maddening! He quickly left after that failed attempt.
Days spent in a weird game of cat and mouse. Solomon would stalk his beloved mortal silently begging that he'd get what he wanted. You would avoid him at any cost often times having to sneak around and hide amongst the fields. It was futile really. Solomon would eventually find you and corner you to intensely stare at you for hours. It always ended with Solomon leaving after awkward silence.
Solomon was getting tired of this ridiculous game you were playing. Why were you being so miserably idiotic? Couldn't you see how he was begging for you? He didn't want those other mortals but you. You made him question everything. You gave him a new purpose in his mundanely boring life. He needed you and soon enough you'd be needing him too.
So that was why he got rid of your loved ones. It was a slow process capturing a mortal and dissecting them apart to see what made them so different from him. Maybe if he found the physical signs he could make you more compelled towards him. Yet they were all the same. None of them were any different aside from physical appearance but he didn't dare to mess his face up. He knew you weren't attracted to them. Why would you? They were all pathetically ugly vermin who were undeserving of your attention. They didn't work for it like he did.
No one knew you like he did. He saw your every move. He knew what made you flinch. What got you smiling. Nobody surely knew these things. That made him special in his eyes. If he knew everything that meant you were his one, right? His soulmate. His other half. The link to fix all his madness. It just had to be you. It could never be anyone else.
A/n: Sorry that this is not finished but I accidentally hit post when I meant to save it as a draft. But might as well reap what I sowed so have this while I go cry in the corner for making a careless mistake
