Luffy, you’re exactly right, Sanji’s the one feeling so much pain. Physical pain is nothing on these guys. Emotional pain though?

It’s like a gut punch when you consider Sanji’s relationship with Luffy and the younger crew members. Luffy’s his Captain and out of the crew he calls him by his title the most times, yet he also treats him like a younger brother. He’s always had that trait in him but having such awful brothers probably reinforced in him the subconscious belief that he had to look out and protect his younger brothers. And so, beating on Luffy like this and being placed in a position where he acts likes his sh*tty older brothers, I can’t even begin to imagine how that must feel for him.

Nami..I don’t know how to feel about Nami exactly. It’s tragically ironic since Sanji and Nami are usually the ones to hit Luffy for comic relief but also to discipline him when he does something foolish. The scene between her and Sanji was emotional.

And Oda has consistently spotlighted her in this arc, It doesn’t dawn that much on manga readers but Nami has always called him ‘Sanji-kun’ and she just dropped that honorific for him this chapter proving that Oda meant some sort of significance for her to address him that way. Will she go back to calling him ‘Sanji-kun’ once they’ve all made-up?

Also, will Sanji’s address of ‘Nami-san’ be brought to attention this arc? Like would his brothers get angry that he a prince is using such a respectful address not befitting his status to address a commoner? Or will Sanji avoid referring to Nami by name at all? Or am I just making a big deal out of nothing? Anyway, as many people have pointed out, Nami seemed harsh this chapter? She was once a master thief and a master liar, and yet she couldn’t tell that Sanji was acting? Or that she could but still felt that the physical blows he dealt were too much? He did keep on saying for them to go.

I’ve aways liked the LuSaNa OT3 ever since the Drum Arc, but I gotta admit, this chapter was neither Sanami nor Lunami, but full-stop LuSan. Luffy’s words prove why he is BEST CAPTAIN and the one fit to be Pirate King. But he can’t do it without you Sanji! So hurry back to where you belong and fulfil your dream of finding All Blue. (Also, it will be hella awkward between the three of them once everything has cleared up, although not for Luffy of course. Sanji will probably feel so guilty towards Luffy to the point of grovelling and Nami towards Sanji for the slap. I hope they get their dynamic back.)
