On the third day of Saturnalia we worship Saturn's wife Ops, giving her thanks for the abundance in our lives and hopes that she will bless us with plenty in the coming year.
'Ops, from whose bounty the sustenance of human life is sought. Or else her name means toil (opus) which makes grain & fruit grow. People make vows to her while seated & deliberately touch the earth signifying that mortals cannot help but seek their very mother, the earth' Macrobius, Saturnalia book 1.
Macrobio', Saturnalia 1.
Opiconsivia - Aug 25
Opiconsivia is a festival held in the honour of the goddess Ops - she is the goddess of opulence, plenty, success, and fertility. This is a time of abundnace and plenty and sharing with others. Celebrate in modern times with a meal shared with others, a donation of food, money or time and use this time to think of things you have plenty of, and what you have that you could share. Sometimes these things aren’t material - maybe you’re an excellent artist and you could share a tip with beginners, or you have a few hours spare you could help someone out or voulenteer. For an altar, ideally you want to be wearing white, and place offerings in a bronze bowl, but you can still make offerings of late summer foods, breads, wines, wheat and corn sheaths, summer flowers, coins, earth/soil.
Decided to draw my splatoon Idols. the second one is them wearing Opalia’s products

Opalia, day of the Saturnalia festival when Ops is supplicated. 'Ops to my prayer incline..Saturn's blessed queen..bring rich abundance & wherever found drive dire disease to earth’s remotest bound.'
