"I had to do this," Stephanie stated calmly, swinging her legs off of the side of the bed. She could feel her strength returning as the blood began to recirculate. She felt cold, but she was assured that was completely normal. "I had to be able to have an advantage. Nobody was going to help me, so I had to help myself. What else was I supposed to do?" She stretched and felt her shoulders pop, sighing in satisfaction. "I did what I had to do. I don't regret it."
