→ OVERVIEW:

Intelligent and curious, Regina Rowle needed to know everything about anything. Born to British Pure-Blood socialite DEMEAS ROWLE and Witch  ATIYA ROWLE Regina and her younger sister ROWENA were brought up in a loving household just outside the city of Cambridge. Their mother, an exceptional witch moved from the North West of Africa after her school years at Uagadou in order to attend one of the most prestigious universities out there, Cambridge university, it was here that she had met Demeas and they fell madly in love. The pair had a whirlwind romance and married quickly, much to the dismay of Demeas’ family, Atiya’s dreams of becoming a writer put on hold for another dream of hers, motherhood. Regina and Rowena were raised in a clash of cultures, neither parent wanting them to miss out on their European or African magical heritage. Their father would tell them stories of Hogwarts, Regina’s eyes lighting up whenever he did so, excited to get up to the same mischief that her father had. Rowena on the other hand delighted in the stories their mother told about her childhood in Africa. Despite the differences between the two sisters and the three years that separated them the sisters were inseparable, wherever Regina went Rowena would follow, not because Regina was bossy or Rowena weak willed, but more because they couldn't stand to be apart.

Being part of Pure-Blood wizarding society meant attending certain events and parties, Rowena found them rather boring and immediately wanted to leave whereas Regina enjoyed them for one reason and one reason only. Their cousins, THORFINN and CAMILLE ROWLE would always attend the same events, and although they were never introduced to one another due to a row their fathers had many years ago that only worsened with time Regina was very intrigued by her cousin Camille. The girl was a puzzle that Regina wanted to solve, she made no effort to hide her hatred for her brother and Regina’s ever present curiosity got the better of her. When the sisters were not attending parties their mother was teaching them magic, getting around the underaged magic law by using traditional African spells and methods instead of the European way of using a wand. Regina listened intently to her mother but got nowhere with the spells, she practiced in her room almost every night but quickly lost interest due to her lack of ability, hoping desperately that she would improve, secretly scared that she was a squib. Her sister thrived with her mother's guidance and there was no doubt that she had magic flowing through her veins, the family all waiting with bated breath for Regina to show some magical abilities, they finally got their wish when she picked up her mother's wand one day and accidentally turned the cat pink. 

Along with her Hogwarts letter, Regina received the news that her mother had been commissioned for a book and would be leaving for Africa the day after she boarded the train. Knowing that Rowena wanted so dearly to immerse herself in her African heritage her mother decided to bring her along, the pair living there until it was Rowena’s turn to leave for Hogwarts. Excited by the opportunity to immerse herself in to another life and to finally step out alone she took everything in her stride, made friends with the right girls, stayed away from the wrong boys, and most of all, introduced herself to her estranged cousin Camille who had already made a lasting impression on the cohort of Hogwarts despite only being in second year. She rode on the coattails of her cousin's reputation, asking Camille for help whenever she needed it. Camille was happy to do so as she wanted to leave the perfect legacy of the Rowle name behind when she left the school a year before Regina would. Camille pointed her in the direction of BRIDGETTE DE MONTMORENCY, EVORA TRAVERS and LUCINDA TALKALOT, a group of girls that held the same priorities as she did and Regina fitted in perfectly. The group would often be found pretending to study in the library whilst actually talking about anything else, quickly getting thrown out by the librarian they would laugh all the way to an unused classroom on the fifth floor that the girls had claimed as their own. When it came to actual work Regina was happy to find out that with a wand her magic worked excellently, she shone in Charms and Transfiguration and also had a special knack for Divination, a trait her mother said came from her. 

Three years into her school career her sister Rowena joined Hufflepuff and Regina got a shock when the young, naive sister that she remembered was not the girl to arrive at Hogwarts. She had changed, grown up and Regina no longer knew where she stood, she wanted terribly to be close to her again, but she also wanted to give Rowena the space that she needed to grow into her own person, the space that she herself that was given by having three years without her sister. In her final years of Hogwarts Regina and her friends grew close to WALDEN MCNAIR and WILLIAM GOYLE, a pair of Slytherin boys that brought out the more mischievous side to the group of girls. Becoming increasingly closer to Walden, the pair fell into a relationship, partly because it was what Regina thought she should do and partly to stop the expectant glances sent her way by her friends whenever she was close to him. They became exceptionally close but Regina felt the relationship was off, something was missing and never one to shy away from an awkward conversation she brought it up several months into their relationship much to Walden’s relief. They talked on the astronomy tower for hours on end, well past curfew and came to the conclusion that actually they much preferred the company of their own genders when it came to romance. Ending on good terms they became best friends and laugh about the event now. 

Leaving Hogwarts behind Regina felt free to explore her feelings fully and it could be said that she left a string of witches in her wake, always living in the moment she got as much enjoyment she could out of someone and happily moved on to the next when she was through. Working for the ministry as an Unspeakable in the hall of prophecies was a sure fire way to attract witches, the mystery that surrounded her job did her well when it came to her love life. ALEXANDRA ROSIER was a witch that fell prey to her charms, they met through her cousin Camille during one of her many visits to the magazine to gossip with her, she got introduced to Alexandra and the pair hit it off. Both on the same page the witches had an agreement of sorts, no strings attached, just fun. Working at the ministry has also brought out her childhood curiosity, except now she finds gossip about her colleagues most intriguing, she thrives in knowing about everyone's business, infact, Regina gossips so much about others that it is almost ironic that her job title is ‘unspeakable’. Her curiosity has gotten the best of her on a few occasions and has in fact made her most unliked by one RITA SKEETER who is severely annoyed over the fact that Regina can spread gossip much quicker than she can publish it.

Living with Walden in a large loft apartment in Camden town meant you could either find the pair in the bars and clubs below, drinking far too much and seeing where the night would take them or you would find them moping about the morning after strewn across their living room. The pair dont have a secret between them and it is well known amongst the two that they have a problem when it comes to their love lives, they would spend hours complaining about the unfairness of it all and would have to go on another night out to make themselves feel better. It's not that Regina didn't enjoy the single life, it was more that she was worried she would never find the person who would make her want to give it up. Her fears however dwindled slightly when after drinking far too much she tripped and fell over her far too high heels and broke her ankle, Walden, the ever perfect best friends apparated her to St Mungo’s where MARIANNE MACMILLIAN was the mediwitch who mended her leg. Regina found herself entranced by the delicate way the witch healed her, her softness overwhelming her. She found herself afterwards coming up with excuses to visit the hospital, she would pop in to visit a friend who was never there, or grab some fliers about dragon pox from the reception even though she had already had them. She did all this with the hopes of catching a glance of the witch that seemed to occupy her mind far too much lately. Not yet ready to give up on being single though Regina vowed to continue as she was and if she happened upon Marianne naturally then it was meant to be.

BIOGRAPHY

Cyrus William Newlin was born a free man in the heart of London. His mother had been a slave earlier in her life, but had earned her freedom later. She married another freed man and together they started a new life with their hope in their new son, Cyrus. Together they formed a happy family with hope of the future. When Cyrus was ten his mother died of a sickness sweeping through the city and he took the loss of her hard, to this day he has a necklace that belonged to his mother he still keeps close to him. Cyrus was close to his father, and with his help he got an apprenticeship as a blacksmith. It was hard work to keep, but he enjoyed it and he loved the jobs he did. 

As he grew older, he started to support his father finically and both combined their wages. Everything changed soon after he entered into his 30′s he started up a friendship with one of his customers. The man was very wealthy, but took an interest in Cyrus’ skills, noting that he was much better than he was given credit for. Not long after a friendship was struck between them. Cyrus would find himself meeting him in taverns for drinks, and even joining him for a few dinner parties at his estate. The truth was that the man was a vampire and had taken an interest in Cyrus as a possible prodigy. When he revealed the truth to Cryus, it was the night he turned him. Cyrus didn’t fully understand what was happening until he woke up as a vampire. For decades he stayed with his sire, learning how to be a vampire, how to hunt and how to keep to the night as he didn’t have a daylight ring like his sire did. 

Cyrus traveled the world with his sire and he loved seeing parts of the world he never thought he would see in his life, he thought he would die before ever leaving England. His father had died not long after he was turned and with nothing holding him back, he dropped fully into traveling with his sire. It was everything he could ever dream of and Cyrus loved being a vampire with the power he now possessed. A few years ago, his sire was killed by a rival, older vampire. It was like a part of him was ripped away and he still feels like he hasn’t recovered. He traveled a bit on his own until he heard of a town in America that had a high population of supernaturals. He is tired of living in the shadows and night for the past 200 years so he decided to try Mistfall to see if he could get a daylight ring.

Past:

Enzo was born with bad luck, an orphan with no real family to speak of, he went from the workhouse at age 4 to the dirty streets at age 14. He learned to live smart and to be stronger than his circumstances, to keep fighting for what laid ahead of him. He found better jobs, got himself a bit better clothes and played the part he needed to make it to the life he deserved. It’d taken plenty of scraping and scrounging but by 1903 Lorenzo had managed to save enough to buy himself a ticket to America, to New York. A place where he’d be able to find a better life, to make something real out of himself. Just in time as well, as consumption was hitting the streets of England. He was so very close to making it out unscathed when a ticket collector allowing people on board noticed his paling complexion and the sweat on his brow, most of all the cough. He was shoved out of line and down the alley, his ticket, his right to leave the sickening country, torn up before his very eyes. He’d been kneeling trying to fruitlessly put his ticket back together when a kick to the face by the ticket collector left him disoriented. Only to find said collector then laying dead beside him and a savior standing above. She offered him help onto the ship, a doctor, a new family, salvation. Instead he laid disoriented in bed while a palm was slit and a glass of thick red liquid was pressed to his lips. Enzo awoke alone, with the charlatan slitting his neck as Lily’s final offering. He was a monster and he had to figure out how to be one now alone, abandoned once more. 

When World War II rolled around Enzo enlisted and finally found what he’d been looking for, a family. Brothers who would have his back in the thick of it and who could count on just the same from him. Years of fighting for his survival paid well to him, and his vampiric abilities even more so in the field. Blood was easy to find and drink, there was nothing to fear from bullets and if someone had to risk themselves to save another he could volunteer to do so, to keep the rest out of harms way. Though in truth, for his brothers, he would have done so anyway even if he were human. He made the biggest mistake of his life one day and wandered away from his post. It was meant to be nothing instead he was hit and brought to the medic before he could compel the memory away from those who saw. He was brought to Dr. Whitmore, noticing a medical marvel the Doctor imprisoned him, shipping him back to America once more in a coffin. He was no longer but now, 12144. 

They called it science but it was only torture, enough to drive someone mad but there was one bright light in it all. Maggie, an examiner there meant to study him, a reminder of who he really was between all of the darkness. He loved her. So when she discovered what truly was happening and tried to free him, tried to have him turn her, he freed her instead. He freed her with the hope that one day he could find her again, un-compel her and truly thank her. It was the memory of Maggie that kept him strong, kept him vigilant until 1950 when the cell beside him suddenly became warm. The day when he met Damon Salvatore and a plan of escape slowly came to be. 

Present:

For all of his patience, for all of his planning and hoping it was a small system error that led to his freedom. Someone had forgotten to double check the locks and Enzo was nothing if not an opportunist. So he observed to make sure that the junior scientist, a recent hire to Augustine, was completely clear of the stupid vervain gas button all the while quietly undoing the last two strapping him down. Then it only took a moment for him to lunge across the room and sink his fangs in. The timing was near magical as the once detained Vampire, the Augustine test subject for 70 years of brutal torture and experimentation was now free. Free and with someone who he owed a visit, one Damon Salvatore. Who as luck would have it, now resided in New Orleans as well. You don’t betray the people you care for, he would learn that.

Connections:

Damon Salvatore: His brother in arms. The one who knew what it was like living through that nightmare. Enzo knew he was weaker than him, that he wouldn’t survive long this way, that they’d break him. So instead he trained him, helped him hold onto something, would cause a ruckus to take the experiments in his place at times. They’d get out of there together. Instead he’d left him behind to die. Now seeing him again he’s not sure if he feels relieved that he’s still alive or angrier than ever. He doesn’t know how to hate him without finally losing everything. 

Caroline Forbes: In his current tense relationship with Damon, Enzo found himself slotting in quite easily with her. The bubbly vampire with a loyalty streak as stark as his own, she reminds him of Maggie in some ways. But it’s fun to flirt and admire and banter even with the occasional stab of envy towards others. Now all he wants is to truly prepare her for the harsher existence of vampirism. Opposites apparently make the best friends and he defends and protects his friends.

Father Kieran O’Connell: Enzo isn’t sure who in this faction he has the biggest problem with. The Vampires for not realising what has been going on in their city, what has been happening to him in their oh so prestigious University. Or this honorable man of the cloth for leading the human faction, the people responsible for his suffering this whole time. He tries to deny knowledge of the Augustine society but Enzo refuses to trust his word. Someone was the blame here and he doesn’t mind adding this name to his list. Guilty until proven innocent.

BIOGRAPHY

Myla has always been the level-headed one out of her siblings. Before she had become an original vampire, Myla had been a witch. Like her mother, she had been heavily involved in the coven they were born into. She had aspirations to become the next High Priestess after her mother. Of course, everything changed for her when she became an original vampire along with her remaining siblings. At first, Myla had struggled with what she had become. In the process she had been cut off from the magic she had felt so close to that defined her whole being. In her mind, her and her siblings had become against the laws of nature. Yet, she saw some of her siblings turn to their new bloodlust and others turned to depression for what they had become. In the end, she knew she had to leave her reservations behind and help her siblings. 

She had always been a leader in her previous life. With their coven all but destroyed by the process of her mother’s spell, the siblings knew they did not have much holding them back. Some went back to their previous marriages and lives, but Myla had no where to return. Instead, she turned to forming new homes. For centuries, Myla would gather others and help them found new cities. Unlike her other siblings who wanted to rule for the sake of power, Myla wanted to rule for the sake of progress. Many cities and civilizations can be traced to her, but she left all of them behind and changed the memories in order to change the history without her truly in it. In the early eighteenth century, she arrived on the rocky coast of what would become Maine she founded a town she would name Mistfall. For the next few centuries she would be in and out of the town of Mistfall as she saw it from fledging settlement to flourishing town. She had intended it to be a safe haven for those of the supernatural in the new world. For the sake of peace, she decreed that the secret of the supernatural would remain hidden and humans and supernatural would live in harmony and safety.

About 50 years ago, the High Priestess of the coven in Mistfall reached out to Myla knowing of the founder who had been in town on and off for centuries. Myla returned and heard out her plan for a treaty between the species. She adored the idea and agreed readily, keeping the vampire faction in line. For years she remained in the shadows and made sure the treaty survived and flourished. She left once more to attend to business in other cities but finally returned three years ago. Desiring to be in charge of one of her favorite towns once more, she returned and ran for mayor. Those who knew of her true nature did campaign for her because they knew she was level-headed and trustworthy out of her family. Humans were only aware of her family lineage to one of the founders. She enjoys being mayor and is frustrated to hear of the High Priestess’ death and the breakdown of the treaty.

Character Name: Marcel Gerard Character Age: 25/216 Character Species: Vampire Status: Open Character Quote: “Mercy is for the weak.”

Past:

Marcel was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1810 to a female slave and her master, the Governor of Louisiana. Despite being the Governor's son, he worked as a slave on the Governor's plantation until he happened to meet Niklaus Mikaelson at his half-brother's funeral. Niklaus, impressed with the young boy's survival instincts and feeling as though the two were kindred spirits or at the very least seeing something in him of himself, decided to adopt the boy into his family as his ward. Because Marcel's mother elected not to name him until she was sure he would survive the fever and ended up succumbing to it before she could choose one for him, Klaus gave him the name "Marcellus", meaning "little warrior", which was later shortened in "Marcel".

From this moment on, he lived with the Mikaelson Family for the majority of the next century until he enlisted in the Army during World War I and was deployed to France until the war ended in late 1918. He then returned to his home and continued living with Klaus and his siblings Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol at their compound until their father Mikael, the Original Vampire vampire-hunter, arrived to town at his and Rebekah's summoning and subsequently chased his children out of town. The Mikaelsons' absence left a power vacuum in the city's supernatural community, which allowed Marcel to eventually rise to leader of the vampire faction while he continued to build up their numbers by carefully turning humans into more of his kind. The vampires quickly accumulated more and more power over witches, humans, and werewolves during the next few decades until Marcel ultimately became the de facto "King" of New Orleans.

During Marcel's rule, he enforced a system of rules of his creation within the French Quarter, by which all supernatural residents must abide He was trying to maintain order within the city, which meant dealing with the witches, who continued their pursuit of Davina after the Harvest ritual he and his army interrupted.

Present:

The past weeks have been challenging, with the return of the Mikaelson’s and the witches not falling into place quite as much as he or at the very least the vampires would like, he has found himself having to make steps into ensuring that everyone remains in their corner, rather than all out war being the only solution. 

The rumors however of some Wolf involved with Klaus have Marcel curious and while he has his protection in the form of Davina, he is not going to allow his former guardian and sire to have something over him. 

Connections:

Klaus Mikaelson: Klaus at least in Marcel’s eyes, saved him and gave him a better chance and while he loves the man as a son would a father, Klaus taught him better than trusting the one person who could take the kingdom he has built. So he is following the good old saying ‘keep your friends close...but your enemies closer’.

Davina Claire: It was Sophie who informed him of the harvest as she did not trust that it worked in the way the elders of the coven believed but Marcel was only able to save the last girl Davina who now also happens to be a useful weapon in detecting magic in the Quarter. Either way he has come to care for her like a father would a daughter and won’t let anyone besides Father Kieran know of her whereabouts. 

Father Kieran O’Connell: Marcel became friends with the man post being work colleges so to speak, he knows the priest is honest and wont lie to him. At the end of the day the type of trust the two have is valued and it speaks lengths that he is the only person who knows where Davina is.

Description of Character: At merely a week old he was 'found' by Katherine and David. They raised him as their own and tried to give him a normal life, or as much as was possible. He is their son in every way, except the biological way and he fully sees them as his parents , even when he knows they're not. 

Personality: A mix between Katherine and David, he can be ruthless, has a temper and is sarcastic like David, however there's a rational and kind side to him as well like Katherine.

How do they know each other?: Devon is the only survivor of one of David's bloodrages, though he doesn't know that. The story he was told was that he was abandoned as a baby and they took him in. They've lived a normal family life as much as they could and never made a secret of what they were. Devon was turned in his early twenties by his own request and he is sired to his mother Katherine. Past:

Elena Gilbert was the poster girl for a charmed life. Two parents, a little brother who annoyed her just enough, a warm home and impressive parents. They were the Gilberts and everyone loved the Gilberts. She’d known her boyfriend since forever, had two best friends, was a cheerleader, super popular and nothing but nice to those around her. Her parents loved Mystic Falls and Elena did too, they were members of the Founder’s Council, her Mom even being a past Miss Mystic and really into the pageant, Elena was told from an early age she’d be one too. She was also told that she’d find her happily ever after with Matt, which sounded great when she was younger but as Elena grew older it slowly started feeling less great. It was the post school bonfire in the woods to kick off the summer, and he was asking her about wedding plans and how many kids they may want one day. All Elena wanted to think about was what they’d all be doing together tomorrow. She’d decided to skip family game night for once for this party and came to regret it more than she’d regret anything else in her life. Elena called her parents to come pick her up wanting to just be home after a blow up fight with Matt. They came and next thing she knew their car was over Wickery bridge and they all drowned. All but Elena who was pulled from the water by a stranger who she would later find out to be Stefan Salvatore.

Elena turned in on herself shutting the world away while her Aunt gave up everything to move in and take care of her and Jeremy. This only intensified the guilt even more so watching her little brother grow angrier and starting to smoke pot at only 15. As the new school year began Elena starting facing the onslaught of meaningless well wishes once more. But with that also came a new student Stefan Salvatore, and with him the supernatural world was opened up to her. It was love at first sight, her even accepting the idea of Vampires. They could still be happy and she began believing in a brighter future. That is until Elena stumbled upon a photo of herself dressed in Victorian fashion, with this Elena learned Stefan’s original fascination with her. She learned that she was a doppelgänger. It would soon define her life, leading to torment at the hands of Katherine Pierce, to even becoming the latest obsession of Klaus Mikaelson the Original Vampire bent on unleashing his werewolf half to once more be the Original Hybrid. Her friends slowly began suffering on her behalf, Elena helplessly left watching as those around her began dying once more. It was more than she could take constantly dodging death herself and rebuffing offers to become a Vampire herself.

In the end however, that choice was taken from her, killed by Rebekah Mikaelson out of a fit of sadness and loathing Elena Gilbert finally drowned to death in the river below Wickery bridge after making Stefan save Matt instead. The transition into life as a Vampire was a difficult one for Elena dealing with a sire bond to Damon Salvatore and even turning her humanity off when her little brother was killed in the rising of Silas. Now however Elena has settled into her Vampiric life enough that she can consider herself happy once more.

Present:

Despite everything happening with their town Elena is actually sort of excited to be in New Orleans, ignoring the Originals of course. Her Father went to Tulane University’s Medical school and often made business trips back for research work when she was growing up. Back then she thought she could never miss him more, now she could go to the same University as him and maybe hang out in some of the same places he used to. It’s the best connection she’s had in a while since finding out about the Vampire hunting side of her family. Something good to start connecting to again.

Connections:

Bonnie and Caroline: Elena’s best friends the dynamic between the three is always shifting even more so ever since the supernatural entered their lives. The two began acting as protectors of sorts and although Elena loves them for it now that she can protect herself she finds it a bit stifling. She doesn’t want anyone giving things up for her anymore. She just wants to be able to support them as well.

Aaron Whitmore: Aaron Whitmore is in a unique position of understanding exactly how Elena feels. Cursed to keep losing everyone they deem family. He’s a fairly mopey person but it only makes her want to help bring him out of his shell. It may also help that he seems to be connected to the latest puzzle she and her friends are dealing with. 

Camille O’Connell: Elena looks at Camille and she sees someone like her, a human dragged into a supernatural world. She emphasises with her on the loss of her twin, knowing only too well how mad the loss of a sibling can drive you. Elena wants to help her however she can, but she also worries about endangering her in the process.
