There isn't time to worry about what people think. There just isn't. The only time that Everyone will 'like' you is when you're dead. The people who get you, or just TRY to get you while you are fully alive with imperfect personality and awkward craziness. They are the real ones. They may be in your heart, in your office or in your bed. They may be on another street, another continent or their very own long strange trip. You may never share more than typed words with them...but you'll know a real connection when it's made. And one of those, my dear, is the entire reason we fight to keep our hearts open. We fight a war with bitterness everytime we get hurt. We take it on the chin, throw our shoulders back and keep pushing. It doesn't get to come in, that darkness, that heavy negativity. We fight. We know that being positive in this world, being loving in this world, being open hearted in this world...it's strength personified. So kindness sure as hell isn't weakness, believing in love doesn't make you a starry eyed push over, and my heart being cracked wide open doesn't mean I I'm looking for approval.
