Day 3 of #OpeningUptoYoga is any upper back opener. #puppypose is a challenge for me for 2 reasons: 1.) my elbows. I have an excessive "carrying angle" (cubitus valgas). It's not a problem in life, except when I want to internally rotate and extend my arms, pinkie side down. My arms don't lie flat. 😕 So I prop up on my fingertips like Spider-Man to make space for my elbows. 🕸By default, it changes the position of my shoulders and I get a craaaazy opener for my upper back. (My arms don't rest flat at my sides in tadasana, either. Eh.)🤷🏽♀️ 2.my short torso. Boobs, hips, and like 1" of cinnamon coffee cake in between 😏 Again, not a problem in life until I'm backbending. All my backbend stuff looks compressed rather than long and lean. 👎🏾 Why does any of this matter? IT DOESN'T. I still practice asana and I adjust postures to safely fit my body. So no matter what your body type or your perceived flaws, practice anyway. Start anywhere. 🙇🏾♀️ Sponsor @aloyoga Hosts @the.bendy.brat @yogajosey @yoga_warrior_goddess @cupcakesandyoga 💕 #yogaeverydamnday #yogachallenge #instachallenge #blackyogis #melanininmotion #blackgirlmagic #melanin #bodypositive #asana #christianyogi #yogisofig #health #fitness #practicedaily #practicemakesprogress #practiceandalliscoming #flexibility #strength #yogastrong #yogalife #dreads #dreadlocks #locs #atl #atlantayogis #atlyogis #atlanta #love (at Deeply Rooted Wellness)
