Grim had made up his mind about Sebek Zigvolt exactly forty-three seconds after meeting him.
"I don't like him."
Yuu looked up from sweeping Ramshackle's porch.
"You've said that every day this week."
"Because it's still true!"
As if summoned by the conversation—
"GOOD MORNING, HUMAN!"
The birds exploded out of the nearby trees.
Yuu winced.
"Morning, Sebek."
Grim flattened his ears.
"See?! WHY'S HE ALWAYS YELLING?!"
"I AM MERELY GREETING MY COMPANION."
"I'M TEN FEET AWAY AND I CAN HEAR YOU!"
---
Grim had many reasons for disliking Sebek.
Reason number one:
"He keeps calling me 'the feline creature!'"
"I HAVE YET TO DETERMINE YOUR SPECIES."
"I'M GRIM!"
"I am aware!"
"THEN USE MY NAME!"
"I shall consider it!"
"JUST CONSIDER IT NOW!"
---
Reason number two:
Sebek had opinions.
Very strong opinions.
"That canned tuna is unsuitable nutrition."
"It's delicious!"
"It contains excessive sodium."
"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS!"
"You should."
"I'M A MONSTER!"
"Then you should know better."
Grim gasped dramatically.
"Yuu! He insulted my entire bloodline!"
"I did no such thing!" Sebek looked up at Yuu, offended.
The sight they were seeing was two siblings arguing for equal orange juice in their eyes.
---
Reason number three:
Sebek kept accidentally stealing Yuu's attention.
Grim would be in the middle of telling a dramatic story.
"...And then I was gonna blast that ghost with my amazing magic—"
"Yuu."
"Hm?"
"You had forgot your umbrella." Sebek had held it out to Yuu for the other to take. A blush on his cheeks that he hoped Yuu couldn't notice.
"Oh! Thanks, Sebek."
"..."
Grim pouted.
"...You interrupted my story."
"It will be raining."
"I WAS BUILDING SUSPENSE!"
---
Reason number four.
The head pats.
Sebek did not understand boundaries.
He had watched Yuu scratch Grim behind the ears exactly once.
The next day—
"The feline creature appears...agitated."
"I am not."
"...Perhaps this gesture is calming."
A large hand descended.
Pat.
Grim froze.
"..."
"...Did you just pet me?"
"I did."
"..."
"YUU HE TOUCHED ME!"
Yuu burst into laughter.
Sebek frowned.
"...Was that incorrect?"
"I'M NOT A CAT!"
"You behave similarly."
"I HAVE DIGNITY!"
"You attempted to fit inside a teapot yesterday."
"...THAT'S NOT THE POINT."
---
The rivalry escalated.
Whenever Sebek visited Ramshackle
Grim would sit directly on Yuu's side
"This seat's occupied."
"..."
Sebek stared.
"...Very well."
He simply stood beside them.
For an hour.
Motionless.
Watching.
Grim slowly looked up.
"...You're creepy."
"I am waiting." Sebek stared ahead.
"For what?"
"For you to become uncomfortable." He looked down at the monster with an unamused look.
"I'M ALREADY UNCOMFORTABLE!" Grim yelled.
---
One afternoon, Grim decided enough was enough.
He marched right up to Sebek.
"You."
"Yes?"
"You like Yuu."
Sebek froze.
"..."
"..."
"...Ridiculous."
Sebek was red in the face instantly. He looked away trying to spare himself some dignity.
"You DO!"
"I merely ensure their continued well-being."
"You carry their groceries."
"They overexert themselves."
"You bring them snacks."
"They forget meals."
"You fixed their broken chair."
"It was unstable."
"You walked across campus because they said they liked flowers."
"...The flowers happened to be nearby."
"They were on the OTHER SIDE OF THE SCHOOL!"
"..."
"..."
Grim crossed his arms triumphantly.
"HA! GOTCHA!"
Sebek's face turned impossibly bright red.
"I DO NOT REQUIRE THE OPINION OF A TALKING FELINE."
"I KNEW IT!"
---
Later that evening
Grim found a small bag sitting outside Ramshackle's door.
Inside...
Premium tuna.
The expensive kind.
"..."
There was no note.
Just the food.
Yuu smiled knowingly.
"I wonder who left this."
Grim looked toward Diasomnia.
"..."
"...That loud weirdo."
---
The next morning—
Grim reluctantly approached Sebek.
"...Hey."
"...Hm?"
"..."
"...Thanks...for the tuna."
Sebek nodded once.
"You are welcome."
"..."
"..."
"...I still don't like you."
"I did not expect otherwise."
"But..."
Grim looked away.
"...You take good care of Yuu."
"..."
Sebek's expression softened, just a little.
"I intend to."
"..."
"...If you ever make 'em cry..."
Sebek didn't even let Grim finish.
"I would sooner challenge fate itself than willingly bring Yuu sorrow."
Grim blinked.
"..."
"...That was...actually kinda cool."
Sebek cleared his throat.
"...Do not repeat that."
"Heh."
Grim smirked.
"Still a loud weirdo."
"..."
"...A tolerable gremlin."
"I HEARD THAT!"
"I intended for you to."
From that day on, they never really became friends.
They bickered constantly, argued over whose turn it was to help Yuu carry groceries, and competed for Yuu's attention whenever the three of them were together.
But if anyone else dared to insult Yuu?
Grim and Sebek would be standing shoulder to shoulder before the insult had even finished.
Neither of them would admit they made a pretty good team.
The problem was...They weren't laughing with Sebek.
---
"...And then Grim stole the entire pie!" A familiar light red haired boy cackled at his narration.
"I DID NOT STEAL IT!" Grim retaliated, crossing his tiny paws.
"From what Ace just described it seems you did" Deuce teased further.
"You're gonna need to pay for that, y'know?" Yuu chuckled, patting Grims head.
"I PREPAID THE THEFT!" The feline almost bit Yuu's hand if not his faithful-henchman
Yuu dissolved into laughter. Epel shook his head as he kept drinking his apple cider—Jack didn't even try to pretend he wasn't amused, letting out a huff that sounded like laughter.
Across the courtyard, Sebek stopped mid-step.
Who...was making Yuu laugh?
He looked over.
Ace.
Deuce.
Epel.
Grim.
Yuu was doubled over, holding their stomach, tears in the corners of their eyes from laughing so hard.
Sebek frowned. His chest tightened strangely. "This again...?" He placed his hand over his chest as if trying to stop the ache and slow down how fast his heart was going.
---
Later
Silver noticed that Sebek had unusually been stirring his tea for likely 6 minutes now, without talking to anybody in the table. "You've been quiet."
"Hm..." Sebek simply muttered and sighed, laying his chin on his knuckles.
"What are you moping about now?" Silver added, raising an eyebrow
"I am simply...contemplating." Sebek responded before a quiet second of silence fell.
"About?" Silver tilted his head sleepily, placing his cheek onto the warmth of his palm.
"...Ace Trappola." Sebek sat up straighter at the name that left his mouth as he closed his eyes in dissatisfaction.
Silver blinked, taken aback. He, too sat up straighter. Now awfully alert at what Sebek was going to say next.
"He is..." Sebek searched for the right word. He opened his mouth—then closed it. Before whispering—"...excessively amusing. And Yuu appears to appreciate this."
"Yes?" Silver responded, not quite getting the point of what Sebek had just told him.
"I fail to see why." Sebek huffed, furrowing his eyebrows in contempt. Silver looked at him for a long moment. "Ah, You're jealous."
Sebek whipped his head to look at Silver. A blush now spreading on his face as his eyes widened at what his upperclassman said. "I most certainly am not!"
"You sound jealous." Silver looked away, resting his cheek back against his palm as he took the handle of his coffee.
"I simply fail to understand why his jokes produce such dramatic results." Sebek leaned towards Silver, crossing his arms. Shaking his head as he slumped in his seat.
---
The next day. Sebek arrived at Ramshackle with rose tea, Yuus favourite.
Yuu smiled immediately upon opening the door and was met with Sebek, poised and holding a bag of rose tea and a cup of it already set in his other hand.
"Oh! Thank you, Sebek." Yuu opened the door wider, taking the bag and the cup from Sebeks hands.
That warm feeling again.
Good.
Then Ace appeared beside Sebek and squeezed past him, showing something to Yuu. "Yuu! Look what I found!"
"A frog?" They tilyed their head at the tiny green amphibian.
"It wears a tiny leaf like a hat!
Yuu gasped. "It does! Oh my gosh, that's adorable!"
Sebek looked at the frog.
Looked at Ace.
Looked back at the frog.
And immediately thought :
"...I could locate a larger frog."
---
That afternoon—
Sebek caught himself doing something horrifying.
Competing.
Ace handed Yuu an apple.
Sebek brought an entire basket.
Deuce helped carry one box.
Sebek carried six.
Epel complimented Yuu's outfit.
Sebek spent twenty minutes trying to think of one.
"...Your...buttons are...securely attached." He nodded.
Yuu smiled anyway. "Thanks, Sebek."
Ace wheezed.
---
Lilia found this incredibly entertaining.
"My, my."
Sebek frowned.
"What."
"You've entered the 'trying far too hard' stage." Lilia crossed his arms, sly and smiling at green-haired boy.
"I have no idea what you're referring to." Zebek furrowed his eyebrows.
"You tried to outdo a frog."
"..."
"...It was a very small frog." Zebek closed his eyes, shaking his head.
---
The breaking point came a week later.
Yuu was sitting beneath a tree.
A second-year from another dorm sat beside them.
They were talking.
Laughing.
The student gently brushed a leaf out of Yuu's hair.
Sebek stopped walking.
"..."
"..."
His stomach dropped.
Something unpleasant settled in his chest.
He didn't like it.
Not one bit.
Before he even realized it—
"YUU."
Both of them looked over.
"Oh, hey Sebek!"
The second-year smiled politely.
"Oh, Zigvolt."
Sebek stared.
The student smiled again.
"..."
"Good afternoon."
"Good afternoon?"
Silence.
Very awkward silence.
Yuu looked between them.
"Everything okay?"
Sebek answered immediately.
"Yes."
The second-year nodded.
"Yes..."
Neither moved.
---
After what felt like an eternity, the other student stood.
"I should get going." The second-year rubbed the back of then head awkwardly. "See you later, Yuu."
"Bye!"
They waved.
Yuu waved back.
Sebek watched them leave.
His shoulders finally relaxed.
Yuu noticed.
"Sebek?"
"Yes?"
"Were you...Jealous?"
His eyes widened.
"What?"
"You looked...kind of upset."
"I was not upset."
"Mhm."
"I was merely..."
He paused.
"...concerned."
"About what?"
"...Their proximity."
Yuu blinked.
"Their...proximity?"
"Yes..."
"...Why?"
Sebek looked away.
“Because they had touched your hair.”
“Because they made you smile.”
“Because you looked comfortable beside someone else.”
Because—
"..."
He couldn't say it.
---
Yuu stood.
Walked over.
Until they were right in front of him.
"...Sebek."
"..."
"You know..."
They smiled softly.
"you can just ask to spend time with me? I like hanging out with you."
"...You do?"
"Mhm."
"You don't have to compete with Ace."
".I was not competing."
"You brought me fourteen oranges."
"You said you liked fruit."
"I said I wanted one orange."
"The others were...precautionary."
Yuu laughed.
Not because of Ace.
Not because of anyone else.
Because of him.
That warm, familiar laugh.
Sebek felt his shoulders finally loosen.
Yuu reached out.
Very gently.
They straightened the slightly crooked collar of his uniform.
"There."
Sebek forgot how to breathe.
"Your collar was crooked."
"I..." Sebek stuttered, red starting in their face.
"You look nice."
Sebek's face immediately turned fully scarlet.
"I...!"
He opened his mouth.
Closed it.
Opened it again.
Nothing came out.
Yuu smiled.
"Cute."
Sebek made a noise somewhere between a gasp and a system error.
Then, with every ounce of dignity he could salvage, he turned on his heel and marched away as fast as he could without technically running.
Yuu watched him go, laughing quietly.
From a nearby window, Lilia grinned.
"I give him...three more months before he accidentally proposes."
Silver glanced toward the rapidly retreating Sebek.
"...You're being generous."
In the distance, Ace could be heard shouting, "DID HE BLUE SCREEN AGAIN?!"
The answer, judging by Sebek's rigid posture and crimson ears, was a resounding yes.
The decision was made at exactly 6:17 in the evening.
Sebek stood in front of the mirror in his room with his shoulders squared, his reflection staring back with the same determined expression he wore before every battle. He drew in a steady breath and nodded once to himself.
"Enough."
He had spent months wondering. Months hoping. Months convincing himself that silence was safer than honesty, only to regret it every time he walked away from Yuu without saying what was in his heart.
No more.
Tonight, he was going to tell Yuu exactly how he felt.
---
He began rehearsing aloud.
"I have developed deep affection for you."
He grimaced.
"Too formal."
"I love you."
His ears warmed.
"Too abrupt."
"Would you be willing to enter a romantic relationship with me?"
He considered it seriously for several seconds.
"Acceptable."
Then he immediately frowned.
"No."
He rubbed his forehead.
"Perhaps."
Nothing sounded right. Every sentence either felt too stiff, too sudden, or completely unlike the way his heart actually felt.
---
Outside his room, Silver happened to be walking down the hallway when he noticed Sebek lingering by the door, clearly preparing himself for something.
"Going somewhere?"
Sebek straightened immediately.
"I intend to confess my feelings to Yuu."
Silver blinked only once before a soft smile spread across his face.
"Finally."
"I have delayed long enough."
"You definitely have."
Sebek placed a hand over his chest and took one last calming breath.
"Wish me fortune."
Silver chuckled quietly.
"I don't think you'll need luck."
Sebek tilted his head.
"I think you'll just need to actually make it to Ramshackle."
Neither of them realized how accurate that prediction would become.
---
Halfway across campus, Sebek's confidence began to crumble.
What if Yuu says no?
He kept walking.
What if they're only being kind to me?
Another step.
What if this ruins everything between us?
Another.
What if they never smile at me again?
His heartbeat became noticeably faster. His palms felt damp despite the cool evening air, and every confident sentence he had rehearsed disappeared from his mind one by one.
---
By the time Ramshackle Dorm came into view, his breathing had become uneven.
"This... this is unreasonable."
His hands trembled. His heartbeat thundered in his ears so loudly that it drowned out the sounds of the forest around him. He tried to steady himself, but his legs suddenly felt far heavier than they had only minutes earlier.
---
Inside Ramshackle, Yuu was setting two mugs onto the table when they glanced toward the window.
"Hm?"
Grim followed their gaze.
"Isn't that Sebek?"
Yuu smiled immediately.
"Oh! He said he wanted to stop by tonight."
Grim narrowed his eyes toward the front gate before looking back at Yuu.
"He's been standing out there for... like... five minutes."
---
Outside, Sebek remained rooted to the spot.
Walk.
His body refused.
Walk.
Still nothing.
Move!
His legs finally obeyed.
One step.
Two.
Three.
That was all he managed before dizziness crashed over him. His vision blurred, his balance wavered, and the world suddenly felt strangely distant.
---
Yuu opened the front door.
"Sebek?"
He looked up.
He saw Yuu smiling warmly at him.
Every prepared sentence vanished from his mind.
He managed only a single word.
"Yuu..."
Then everything went black.
He collapsed forward with a loud thud.
---
"SEBEK?!"
---
Five minutes later, Sebek slowly regained consciousness on Ramshackle's old sofa.
He blinked several times at the familiar ceiling before speaking in a dazed voice.
"Am I... alive?"
Grim snorted from across the room.
"Barely."
Yuu was seated beside him with a cool cloth resting against his forehead and a glass of water waiting on the table.
"You scared me."
Understanding slowly dawned on Sebek's face.
He immediately attempted to sit upright.
"I apologize!"
"Easy."
Yuu gently pressed a hand against his shoulder and eased him back onto the cushions.
"You fainted."
Sebek stared blankly.
"I... did?"
"You walked all the way here just to pass out on my front porch."
He covered part of his face with one hand.
"That is deeply embarrassing."
Grim nodded far too enthusiastically.
"It really was."
---
Yuu handed him the glass of water.
"What happened?"
Sebek accepted it carefully, staring into the water instead of meeting their eyes.
He could lie.
He could blame exhaustion.
Training.
Heat.
Anything.
Instead, he quietly admitted the truth.
"I was nervous."
Yuu blinked.
"Nervous?"
His ears slowly turned crimson.
"Because I came here to tell you something."
Yuu's heartbeat skipped.
"Oh."
---
The room became unusually quiet.
Grim looked back and forth between them before awkwardly clearing his throat.
"I'll... uh..."
He glanced around the room desperately.
"Count dust."
Yuu couldn't stop the amused smile that appeared.
"Thanks, Grim."
The little monster disappeared into the kitchen with exaggerated purpose, leaving the two of them alone.
---
Sebek looked down at the untouched glass in his hands.
"I had prepared a speech."
Yuu waited patiently.
"I no longer remember any of it."
"That's okay."
Sebek laughed weakly at himself.
"I remember the important part."
He took one long, shaky breath.
"I love you."
His voice trembled despite every effort to steady it.
"I have for quite some time."
He finally lifted his eyes to meet Yuu's.
"You make ordinary days feel important. I find myself looking for you before anyone else. I wish to protect you not only because it is my duty as a knight, but because you are simply... you. I wish to stand beside you, no matter where life takes us."
He smiled sheepishly, still unable to believe himself.
"And apparently, I become so anxious at the thought of telling you that my body simply decides consciousness is optional."
Yuu couldn't help laughing.
It wasn't mocking.
It wasn't loud.
It was warm, gentle laughter filled with nothing but affection.
Sebek's heart sank.
"I'm sorry."
"What?"
"You're laughing."
Yuu shook their head immediately before reaching forward and gently taking one of Sebek's hands between both of theirs.
"I'm laughing because only you could make a love confession so dramatic that your body literally hit the emergency shutdown button."
Sebek stared silently at their joined hands, barely daring to breathe.
"Yuu..."
Yuu smiled so softly it made his heart ache.
"I love you too."
Everything inside Sebek stopped.
"You..."
"I've loved you for a while."
Yuu laughed quietly.
"I was honestly beginning to wonder if I'd have to confess first."
Sebek's entire body froze.
"You... love me?"
"I do."
His brain desperately attempted to process those two simple words.
It failed spectacularly.
Yuu watched the focus slowly disappear from his eyes.
"Sebek?"
He opened his mouth.
"No."
His head tilted.
"No, no, no..."
Before Yuu could react, Sebek slumped sideways.
Yuu caught him just before he hit the armrest.
"Seriously?" they groaned, unable to believe this was happening again.
Grim peeked back into the room.
He stared at the unconscious knight before bursting into laughter.
"Did he faint again?!"
Yuu looked down at Sebek, whose face remained brilliantly red even while unconscious.
A fond smile spread across their own face as they carefully brushed a few strands of green hair away from his forehead.
"I think that's a yes."
---
Nearly twenty minutes later, Sebek stirred for the second time that evening.
The first thing he noticed was that Yuu had never left.
Their hand was still wrapped gently around his.
He stared at it before slowly looking up.
"You stayed."
Yuu squeezed his hand reassuringly.
"I said I loved you."
They smiled.
"I'm not going anywhere."
Sebek closed his eyes for a brief moment, overwhelmed by a happiness he had never imagined himself deserving. A small, awestruck smile slowly appeared across his face.
"This..."
He whispered so quietly that only Yuu could hear him.
"...was worth fainting for."
From the kitchen, Grim shouted without missing a beat,
"NEXT TIME JUST WRITE A LETTER!" Grim shouted. "Gosh....I never knew someone could be so in love." He shook his head.
A/N :IM GONNA MISS THIS SERIESSS, TYSM EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!
Ace stretched so dramatically he nearly fell off the couch in Heartslabyul. "I'm going into town."
Deuce looked up.
"To do what?"
"I don't know." Ace shrugged, putting on the jacket he had on the hand rest earlier.
"...Fair." Deuce put down the book he was reading as he stood up and followed Ace.
---
An hour later...the first-years somehow all found themselves standing at the school gates.
Ace.
Deuce.
Epel.
Jack.
Yuu.
Grim perched on Yuu's shoulder.
And, after five minutes of very loud protesting—
Sebek.
"I HAVE NO INTEREST IN 'RECREATIONAL SHOPPING.'"
Ace smirked.
"So...why'd you come?"
"...Yuu asked."
Everyone stared.
"...That's it?" Epel asked.
"...Yes."
"...You folded that fast?"
"I accepted an invitation."
---
The nearby town was bustling with weekend shoppers.
Yuu stopped at nearly every little stall.
"Oh! Look at these!"
A stand full of handmade keychains.
Grim immediately started digging through them. "I WANT THE FISH ONE!"
Ace picked up a tiny playing-card charm. "Hah! This one's me."
Deuce found a motorcycle-shaped one. "...This is actually kinda cool."
Jack quietly bought a little wolf charm without telling anyone.
Epel stared at an apple-shaped keychain. "...I'm buying it."
Ace snorted. "Predictable."
---
Sebek...
Was confused. "...Why are we purchasing miniature objects?"
Yuu smiled.
"Because they're cute."
"...An acceptable reason."
Five minutes later—He secretly bought one shaped like a tiny gargoyle.
No one pointed it out. Yuu bumped Sebeks elbow and mouthed out "for Malleus-sama?" And ofcourse, he nodded.
---
Then came the bakery.
The smell alone was enough to drag everyone inside. "I CALL FIRST PICK!" Grim yelled.
"You don't get first pick!" Ace argued.
"I HAVE A FASTER METABOLISM!"
"THAT'S NOT HOW THAT WORKS!"
Yuu laughed. Deuce apologized to the confused cashier before anyone had even ordered. Jack quietly paid for everyone's drinks before they noticed. Epel somehow convinced Grim that trying every sample counted as "quality control."
---
Sebek stood in front of the display. "...There are too many pastries to choose from."
Yuu walked beside him.
"Need help?"
"...Yes."
"What do you usually like?"
"I have never..."
"...considered pastries aside from the ones at school."
Ace nearly dropped his tray.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT PASTRIES?"
"They exist."
"THAT'S YOUR OPINION ON DESSERTS?!"
---
Yuu picked up a honey bun.
"Try this."
Sebek accepted it carefully.
One bite.
"..."
Another bite.
"...This is..."
Everyone waited.
"...Pleasant."
Yuu smiled knowingly.
"So you like it?"
"...I shall purchase three."
---
After lunch...
Ace spotted an arcade.
"Oh, absolutely."
Within minutes—Ace was losing spectacularly at a racing game. "I SWEAR THE CONTROLS ARE RIGGED!"
Jack somehow won the strength machine on his first try.
Epel became terrifyingly competitive at claw machines.
Grim kept trying to climb inside one.
The staff politely stopped him.
Twice.
---
Sebek had never seen an arcade before.
"...What purpose do these machines serve?"
"They're fun."
"...You exchange currency...for amusement?"
"...Yeah."
"...Curious."
---
Yuu challenged him to a rhythm game.
"I've never played before."
"I'll teach you."
Two minutes later—Sebek hit every note with perfect precision.
Ace stared.
"...Of course."
Deuce sighed. "He's accidentally good at everything."
Sebek looked genuinely confused.
"...Was that difficult?"
---
As the sun began to set...the group wandered into a small park.
No one was really talking anymore.
Just enjoying the cool evening.
Grim had fallen asleep across Yuu's lap.
Jack leaned against a tree.
Epel was finishing the last of his drink.
Ace and Deuce were arguing over whose directions had gotten them lost.
Sebek sat quietly beside Yuu "...Thank you."
Yuu looked over.
"For what?"
"...Inviting me."
Yuu smiled. "I wanted you here."
"..."
"...Really?"
"Yeah."
"You always look so serious at school."
"I am serious."
"I know."
"...But today..."
Yuu nudged his shoulder gently.
"...You smiled a lot more."
Sebek blinked.
"...Did I?"
"Mhm, Especially after the honey bun."
From somewhere behind them—
Ace shouted, "HE LOOKED LIKE HE'D SEEN THE LIGHT!"
"I DID NOT!"
"You BOUGHT THREE!"
"I WAS...CONDUCTING A COMPARATIVE TASTE ANALYSIS!"
Epel laughed so hard he nearly dropped his drink.
Even Jack let out a quiet chuckle.
Yuu's laughter joined theirs, bright enough to make Sebek's ears warm all over again.
He glanced around at the group.
Ace's endless teasing.
Deuce trying to keep everyone organized.
Epel pretending not to enjoy himself.
Jack quietly making sure everyone stayed together.
Grim snoring loudly.
Yuu smiling at all of them.
For someone who once thought free time was a waste if it wasn't spent training or serving his lord, the day had been unexpectedly...comfortable.
As they walked back toward the mirror that would take them to Night Raven College, Ace slung an arm around Deuce's shoulders, Epel complained that Ace had cheated at the arcade, Jack carried everyone's shopping bags because no one had noticed he was already doing it, and Grim sleepily mumbled into Yuus shoulder about wanting more pastries.
Sebek walked beside Yuu at an easy pace.
"...May I ask something?"
"Sure."
"...Will we..."
He cleared his throat.
"...do this again next Saturday?"
Yuu smiled without hesitation.
"I'd like that."
Sebek nodded once, trying very hard to look composed. "...As would I."
Behind them, Ace whispered to Deuce, "He planned the next hangout before we even got back."
Deuce grinned. "...Yeah."
Neither of them missed the small, content smile Sebek wore for the rest of the walk home.
A/N : this is chapter 6 out of 8, sadly the operation L-O-V-E Just go for it Sebek is coming close to its end BUT may have a series 2 continuing with Sebek and Yuus relationship (if Sebek does confess *wink* *wink*) I hope everyone enjoyed this compensation chaoter after i have been very absent recently. Thank you all for reading <3
