Looney Tunes filming headcanons
*Spoiler Ahead*
1. At the end of ‘Bewitched Bunny’ Bugs did actually end up taking Witch Hazel [in her normal form] out for dinner on a date on the condition that she ‘didn’t try no magic doo-hickory's or anythin’’. This is not because he has - or had - any romantic interest in her but because at the end of the short she let slip that she wished someone would take her out for an actual date but seeing as she’s a witch she thought it was impossible.
Bugs was like “Eh...I’ll take you out for a date if you want, doctress. But no magic stuff okay?” They had quite a nice time but both of them knew it was never going to lead anywhere serious. And it didn't.
2. At the end of ‘Duck Rabbit Duck!’ Daffy hadn't been told that the hunters would shoot him at the end, so his clutching Bugs and hissing ‘you’re despicable’ is genuine.
3. In the same short it was left to Bugs and Daffy to go after Elmer at the end and stop him going insane. Because he was still running and shooting that baseball, so Bugs and Daffy ran after him and then had to tell him what season it really was to get him to stop. Seeing as his feathers were already charred Daffy took the bullet [literally] and told him it was Duck season. Elmer shot him and then calmed down.
4. In ‘Operation Rabbit’ Wile.E wouldn't tell anyone what accent he was going to use. The first time he spoke to Bugs was the first time anyone heard it. He decided on upper-class English simply to get across the arrogance.
in connection - Wile.E based the accent of someone he heard once. He was interested in science so managed to convince the executives to let him go to a lecturer on Chemistry by some famous English professor that was on a visit to the U.S. The minute Wile.E heard the guys voice he knew he had to use it. It took him ages to practice it and get it right - he had some help from the Goofy Gophers - but he managed it! Which is no surprise. After all - he is a genius.
5. In ‘Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers’ there’s a bit at the beginning when Elmer has a mini breakdown about his life and it ends with him hugging Bugs and Bugs going ‘there, there’ and then moving on. Obviously that wasn't scripted and after the shoot Bugs found himself a little concerned because he thought that there was no way Elmer could just...come up with that. He figured Fudd must be basing it a little on what he actually thought, so he popped round to Fudd’s and was like:
“Eh...I think we need to have a talk, Doc.”
Elmer - who thought he’d done quite well in the shoot - was a bit confused but let Bugs in anyway and they had a little heart to heart. Elmer managed to convince Bugs he was fine, but the rabbit still wasn’t entirely sure. He let it drop though.
