wretched void gremlin that won't leave me alone
Operator and Drifter Deimos, who belongs to @vox-solaris!
Two grumpy brats! He made that face so much it stuck that way.
The space children. Left to right: Mirza, Deimos, Lyra.
1, including 1a, for both drifter and operator, and 7, including 7a, for both as well.
1. If your OC has enhancements, or magical powers, how dependent are they on them? 1a. How do their enhancements or powers affect their day to day life? Are there any downsides to them that makes it harder to do certain things?
well, obviously they've both got transference and void powers after the new war, mostly drawing from the madurai and naramon schools.
(excuse the weird old cutscene fashion lmao)
operator deimos is better at wielding void magic and piloting warframes than his counterpart, mostly due to having more experience with it all and a much more innate connection to the frames he uses. he's particularly bonded to his volt, considering him both a friend and in many ways an extension of himself. truthfully, he's more comfortable in transference than out of it--when he first 'woke up', he had to work through some bad dissociative episodes while adjusting to his real body, and they sometimes still recur.
drifter deimos, on the other hand, has complicated feelings regarding becoming too reliant on warframes to fight his battles, especially after having spent so long 'surviving' alone in duviri. he only really uses transference when necessary, and he frequently runs himself through stealth and combat training exercises to keep his own skills sharp, in the event that something fails and leaves him once again on his own.
7. If your OC was forced to have an animal companion, what would they pick? 7a. Would they grow to like their new pet, and if so how long would it take for them to warm up to it?
they both actually have pets! the two share a love for kubrow of all kinds, and have amassed a small pack that roam around the drifter's old camp on earth, protecting kahl's refuge against local threats.
drifter deimos is especially fond of a huge old huras named bartok, who was originally the first kubrow egg the operator ever hatched, long before his arrival in the origin system. in my canon, when the operator disappeared during ballas's takeover, bartok was the one who lead ordis to the drifter, somehow able to sniff out their connection, and stuck by his side through thick and thin while battling the narmer. this bond remained even when the operator returned, and now in 1999 he lives comfortably in deimos's backroom, occasionally joining him on his patrols around hollvania.
i also had this cute idea that after they get together properly, deimos gifts quincy a kubrow puppy of his own for his birthday, so that, in his words, "you've got someone to watch your back when i'm not there to do it for you." i'm still debating on what they name her, but once i figure it out i'm absolutely making her in game.
god this whole thing has me considering other name options now lmfao... though he's been deimos for so long anything else feels Weird
two of them..........
I couldn’t be bothered to fiddle with the captura lighting too much, but I figure it’s about time I throw up my operator Deimos and his main frame. I don’t have a concise story about them yet, but I do know the Volt has some degree of sentience, possibly Umbra level, and the two are extremely closely bonded.
(@frame-rate since you said you didn’t mind a tag, here’s my boys! I’m also absolutely now considering giving Deimos’ Volt a unique name, like Static’s. It feels right that he would have one... just gotta decide what.)
Three masterpieces as the post officially launching this blog.
