So y'all are telling me this kid who saw things we don't know about in another dimension, got manipulated by multiple adults, is learning about the dark side of the H.A, has more responsabilities than lot of professional heroes, saw his father figure getting killed in a very gruesome way infront of him, would not turn into a villain? Right..

Fakes?

Got hit by a crazy theory about the Mad cyborg I'm going to share.

What if the Mad Cyborg and Digital Kuseno are in fact fakes? Made by Human Kuseno to be Genos' final opponents in the case he faced premature death, just so Genos can find his inner strength separate from the cyborg body he's in and becomes capable of defeating the organization and the real Mad cyborg once and for all?

The mad cyborg is purposefully antagonizing to Genos, in ways that hurt him just to fire him up and he was led there against his will. And digital Kuseno is so evil and removed from the human Kuseno we know because it's purposefully made to villainize human Kuseno, to the point where Kuseno appears to be a mad scientist bent on world domination. Bofoi seems to agree too, because he knew Kuseno from his youth, but we also know human Kuseno is not that kind of individual. Kuseno has to be villainized so Genos stops trusting the doctor implicitly and in turn, his cyborg body so as to find strength from a separate source, his inner strength.

That's why Genos has no recollection of the Mad cyborg when it was supposedly a nostalgic reunion, despite the fact that Bofoi is burned into his memory from the same incident.

The real mastermind AI, quite possibly the real Mad cyborg, is where Zombieman was taken, Organization headquarters where I suspect Saitama is also headed towards.

Here's the food why I think so:

Mad cyborg is way, way too eager to make Genos believe he is in fact the Mad cyborg, dodges the question and deploys gaslighting in the same sentence to dehumanize Kuseno, to make it seem like he was just an android and not a human being. Once it has done explaining it's backstory all and mocking Genos and given him little to no time to ponder anything except tackle Heart-Gear, it waits with bated breath for Genos' answer and then gleefully claps when Genos takes the bait. Sounds like classic manipulation tactics to me.

2. It was surprisingly easy to be found, the bunker not too far from civilization. Dr.Genus House of evolution was at least 4 hours away from civilization and Kuseno's laboratory seems to be the same thing. How come it wasn't found until now and how come Genos was DIRECTLY led into the base of his arch nemesis which so far has proven to be incredibly elusive and granted biometric code access? Kuseno and Genos were chasing Mad cyborg for 4 years, if Kuseno knew of this location, why not tell Genos? Why invite Genos to it's doorstep?

3. Genos has no recollection of the Mad cyborg when he sees it, despite it claiming it to be nostalgic reunion. Genos on the other hand claimed to remember Bofoi was there when his family was killed and Bofoi claims his memory has been tampered with. The only conceivable person to be able to tamper with Genos' memory and program him to get into Mad Cyborg' location is the last upgrade from doctor Kuseno, which he only gained access to after his death.

4. Kuseno knew that if he died, Genos would have no way of self-repairing his incredibly advanced cybernetic body and he would soon meet his end at the hands of some enemy, so his only options became to a) make Genos run away from the organization b) give Genos self-repair feature c) somehow make Genos reform back into a human. Multiple options would require Genos to break his limits to become feasible.

5. When the cognitive bias that Kuseno was a good man was starting to crack after Bofoi explains that Kuseno is in fact a villain bent on destroying the world, the latest system upgrade for Genos activates immediately which leads him to the Mad cyborg location, who then tries his damnedest to make sure that Genos stops trusting the Doctor.

It all sounds highly suspect, because if Genos didn't suspect a thing, he would go his merry way knowing Kuseno was a great man and it seems that Doctor Kuseno did not want Genos to feel that way, because he's seemingly responsible for the Mad cyborg in the first place. He's also responsible for tampering with Genos' brain, which would definitely make him dubious at best, horrible at worst.

6. The Mad Cyborg's appearance, notably the halo, may be a reference to the Halo effect in psychology.

The term halo effect is used in psychology to describe a perception distortion that affects the way people interpret the information about others with whom they have formed a positive gestalt. For example, they find out that someone with whom they have formed a positive gestalt has cheated on his taxes; but because of the positive gestalt, they may dismiss the significance of this behavior or even think the person simply made a mistake. The halo effect refers to the tendency to evaluate an individual positively on many traits because of a shared belief.

ONE's masterful character design shines through once again.

It would appear that Mad cyborg's purpose is to shred the cognitive biases surrounding Kuseno. Kuseno may have appeared to be kind on the surface level, but he was also distant from Genos in the laboratory and seems to have plenty skeletons in the closet. But we also know that his tears were genuine.

7. Heart-Gear and it's heartbeat may be a reference to how individuals need to die and resurrect in order to break their limits. It also reminds me of Saitama's heart thumping during his dream scenario in the anime and Boros heart thumping when he unleased Collapsing star, roaring cannon. It might be the pure adrenaline of the fight that keeps the individual afloat and kicking and survive a fatality.

8. If this is Kuseno's way of apologizing, to make Genos break his limits and even maybe to the point of reforming back into a human, bro that's one helluva way of apologizing after roping 15-year old into a revenge quest and giving into their plead to be turned into a cyborg.

A mob psycho 100 and one punch man theory I have is that are they connected? I've seen many people joke about how mob looks like saitama's kid, but what if it was the other way around.

Specifically, what if Tatsumaki and Fubuki are descendants of Tome?

In the one punch man series, we see various people with different powers, but it's never explained how these people got their powers. But in the MP100 series, Ritsu and Shigeo both have psychic powers, but their parents don't show any signs. Which could give the possibility for someone powerless like Tome to have psychic descendants.

Another reason for this theory is how similar these sisters ate to tome.

Personality wise, they all act prestigious and cocky. They also have a bit of an ego.

They also psychically look similar, although the mp100 characters don't have eye colours, theres a chance of tome's being green.

Although I agree with the head cannon that tome's a lesbian (I'm just thinking from a different point of view) there's a chance they got the green hair from this guy (I can't remember his name)

Also, Yusuke Maruta's drawing of Tome's looks very similar to Fubuki.

THEORY I WANT TO SHARE THAT I HAVE HAD IN MIND FOR AWHILE!

(Genos, Drive Knight, Metal Knight, Mad Cyborg related)

I had a theory awhile ago about Metal Knight and Drive Knight working together secretly, but now something tells me that is not the case whatsoever.

I think it’s strange on how Drive Knight tells Genos to not trust Bofoi off the bat in the beginning from the end of season 1.

Like he’s trying to turn on the possibility of a traitor in the HA in the mind of Genos (so he becomes worked up about it, which works and favors DK later on). Like he needs someone else to do his dirty work for him, due to DK already being seen as suspicious by MK.

(ik ik im stretching here and there but, let me cook)

But I feel like it’s strange on how Drive Knight tries to pin point it all at Metal Knight particularly because of his absence throughout the Hero Association. Like he’s trying to make it out as HE is the one Genos needs to target particularly. Especially because he’s the only other robot besides the 2 of them being part cyborg.

Does Drive Knight tell this information to anyone else, BESIDES GENOS?

No, not at all (at least that’s just from what I know and see, as he’s a very secretive person).

And I think it’s really strange when Drive Knight starts to mention about ‘knowing’ something evil about MK. It’s like he’s inserting himself, or with the people he might work with in secret. Like a new hidden organization yet to be announced in the storyline.

Especially on the first panel below this, when he tells Genos why he’s telling him this. It all seems so manipulative, stalker kind of vibe, trying to share common ground/change his persona to be likable/trust worthy. He’s suspiciously trying a little to hard to gain his trust, he’s trying to be a victim like him, I guess gain sympathy in a way?

It’s like Metal Knight KNOWS he’s in a mentally unstable condition, that Genos seems desperate enough to find out about his ‘mad cyborg’ killer sooner or later.

If someone very important to him happened to die, Genos would whole heartily (maybe with a grain of salt) follow Drive Knights information. (Wanna know what happened? KUSENO DIED, HIS FATHER FIGURE, SOMEONE WHO WAS THERE FOR HIM IN THE BEGINNING. And wanna know what he did after? He used that information from Drive Knight to go after Metal Knight.)

Also-

HOW DOES DRIVE KNIGHT KNOW THAT GENOS’ES VILLAGE AS BEEN DESTROYED BY A ‘mad cyborg’ AS WELL???

NO ONE TOLD HIM??

SO HOW DOES HE EXACTLY KNOW!???

(It’s like out of the blue.)

This only furthers my suspicions on Drive Knight.

Especially on the after math of Kuseno’s death and when robots invade nearby cities. In which Genos automatically assumes it’s the work of Metal Knight.

And now with new evidence from the newest webcomic chapter shows Metal Knights base, with no robots forming out of the base itself.

As all of his robots are by the HA HQ fighting the new other robots.

(Although the chapter isn’t fully translated yet, you can see DK, which proves my previous point up above in the third section.)

I actually think Drive Knight might be working with the association that destroyed Genos’es village. It would explain on why he’s trying to pin the blame on Metal Knight and to not become suspicious from Genos POV, giving him a good alibi for the most part.

And if anything that ‘mad cyborg’ killer could be Drive Knight himself, but that’s a bit of stretch if anything.

A little bit more evidence mentions: (from the top of my head)

-Metal Knight tells Child Emperor to not trust anyone as his final message to him. We are shown a text of both of them used to being friends.

It’s like Metal Knight had to cut his connection towards CE for his safety as he MK already felt he was being watched himself. (But that might change due to the recent chapter that has yet to be translated, can’t fully confirm until then but just putting it out there.)

-Saitama tells Genos to just talk to Metal Knight and ask. But Genos pays no head to that, which might become his biggest mistake.

I feel like this is foreshadowing that once Genos gets close to Bofoi, and Bofoi tells him that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about/tells him straight up he had no relation to the event he speaks of. I feel like Genos might lose it completely even if Saitama is next to him and tries to calm him down.

Like I feel like Genos might almost kill Bofoi but Saitama stops Genos in time. And both start to argue and it’s starts to become sad from there.

-It’s strange how after Genos talked to DK for a bit, then Kuseno dies.

Coincidence? I think not.

It’s like Kuseno was on DK’s hit list for him and the people that he works with/the association that killed Genos’es village. And they had to get rid of him one way or another, it would explain why there was random strong robots there. They were being tracked and targeted, mainly Dr.Kuseno (as if he was getting close to the truth).

Like they to manipulate Genos just so DK could earn his trust and lose a lot of suspicion in his eyes. Even after Kusenos death.

-THE 2 MF ROBOTS FROM SEASON 1 THE SOUND O SONIC EP! (I think)

They appeared after taking back the suit of the big strong bald head guy.

It’s like very early foreshadowing of members for another association, yet to still appear out of thin air. (IMO)

Random theory:

OPM God isn't actually a god. It's just a very powerful entity that calls Itself a god, and tells the people It infects (yes, infects. It doesn't gift those people powers or anything, It infects them) that It is God. And maybe the people It infected were like. Meant to be Its little guards or some shit. Like they keep the uninfected humans in line (i.e.: keep them from gaining power and turning against It.)

Do I have any information or lore to back up this theory? Apart from It being able to physically be fought, no.

Is there any specific reason I think this? Not really.

Will it likely be the case? Probably not.

But. It's my theory, so I share.

Healer Type Espers?

So there’s this this character in MP100 named Fukuda. He’s really forgettable, but is the only character who I can remember having healing powers.

Healer type espers are, according to Minegishi, exceptionally rare. Considering that not even teleportation or clairvoyance were stated to be rare(at least not that I can remember), it got me wondering just how rare healing powers actually are.

More importantly, it got me wondering if there are any healer espers in OPM. Assuming that OPM and MP100 follow the same rules of psychic powers, there could be, and that would make a really interesting character... especially considering that Mumen Rider exists.

Okamaitachi And Her Name

So I saw a post awhile ago talking about Okamaitachi and her name being a) offensive and b) her being poor representation for the trans community due to the fact that her body is drawn with hyper masculinity. I’d like to break down my opinion on the matter.

Firstly let’s talk about what’s canon:

I do in fact think she is a transgender woman, and I’m pretty sure it’s canon, considering her databook page says “...he-- i mean she may have been born a male but she’s a young maiden at heart looking for love.”

I’d also like to talk about her name. It’s a combination of two japanese words Okama and kamaitachi. Kamaitachi is a sword wielding style that she uses, including murata has actually illustrated her using it. Okama is general slang term used to address feminine gay men.

Now let’s talk about the term Okama, because it can mean different things

I did some research on it, and while it can be used as in insult, but it is not always. The japanese language doesn’t have a term for transgender, or drag queen or male-cosplayer until very recently, so some japanese mtf transgender women (dansou is the politically correct term, by the way) just use the word Okama, as well as drag queens and just feminine gay men.

While it can be translated to many things, usage wise, i think it’s best translated to queer, mainly because it is used as both an insult and an identifier. It can be used as a slur or an identifier based on prefixes or suffixes. For example okama-rashii is considered a slur, while okama-sun is generally the polite way to great a drag-queen you don’t know the name of, but it’s becoming a more neutral term in usage. Once again, it best translates to a queer person, but specific male born queer people.

I’d also like to talk about the fact that Iaian, bushidrill and Atomic Samurai adress her as Kama, which is a term used to refer to a cauldron or a pot, dating back to about 972 AD. It’s quite literally a rice cooker. But it is also a weapon used in martial arts, similar to a sickle. The cauldron term is actually the base word for okama. The O was added to it to make it mean quite literally, vagina (but it has lost that meaning a long time ago, to the point that using Okama to describe a vagina is so archaic that most people don’t recognize it without context).

So basically the rest of the atomic fam just call her a rice-cooker, which is mainly considered a woman’s job... (I dunno i think it’s kinda funny, a little sexist, but really funny, since she doesn’t seem to mind and may actually be fond of the nickname)

Secondly let’s talk about LGBTQ representation in One Punch Man.

Considering that puri puri prisoner is well... puri puri prisoner, ONE isn’t really off to a good start.

Okamamaitachi is a lot better by a long shot, in my opinion at least. In japanese, she is addressed with gender-neutral pronouns (i’ve read in several places that japan only has one pronoun, and address peoples gender based on suffixes, but I’ve also seen places that say the japanese do have gendered pronouns so I’m not sure.

While she is drawn with really big muscles, you also have to consider her career, a hero, who carries a heavy weapon. The sword she carries is about as long as her waist to her head (and considering she’s 5′11 1/2′’) so it has to be at least 2.75 feet long. And it’s at least two pounds. As someone whose held and tried to use a junkdo (a korean sword that on average tends to be lighter), using a weapon that heavy and long with accuracy takes a lot of strength, hence her having raging muscles tends to be accurate. And considering how murata draws captain mitsuki with no chill whatsoever, I wouldn’t say his portrayal of kama is transphobic at all, especially with how femininely he draws her face and expressions. And considering how she talks in a very sing song feminine way but also serious, and is drawn like a woman, i’d say ONE doesn’t intend to be deliberately transphobic either.

While we could have someone that obviously looks like a cis-woman off-handled bring up being transgender, or watch a character go from more masculine to feminine, I’d say we could have gotten something a lot worse (cough cough j.k. rowling’s latest book) too.

Anyway that’s my take on it, and you’re welcome to disagree with me or whatever but when I write her this is what’s on my mind
