Saitama vs God

What if Saitama punches God, but he's just unfazed and invites Saitama to face off against him to transform from mortal to stronger than anything we've seen, practically immortal being. And Saitama hesitates because according to Genos one sneeze from him destroyed jupiter and suddenly he's faced with a choice to save the world but ending his human life as he knows it or run away. He chooses to fight because he's a hero and he'll figure out something.

Imagine God just reaching out with a hand not to give power but to invite Saitama to duke it out with him because he knows Saitama has to abandon his mortality to do so since he's far above Cosmic fear Garou in terms of power. And OPM God is bored, he wants to face the Abominable fist that turned against him himself and in that, he and Saitama aren't so different.

The Mystery of Monsters

where do they come from, what do they seek, how did they come to exist, why has nobody of the OPMverse questioned why there had come to be so many monsters recently.

I learnt from a history class once:

Monsters exist to demonstrate - to show some important perspective, to teach us a lesson, to let us learn of what we would miss without their exaggeration of it. Their behaviour shocks us to revelation through extremity.

Not 怪物, Not 怪獣, But 怪人. lit. Strange People

notice how OPM uses the term *怪人* for the monsters, rather than common default of 怪物 lit. Strange Things, or 怪獣 lit. Strange Beasts.

人: a character for person, people, human.

which might imply, just as we read, some of the Mysterious Ones were once Human

The Human who becomes ill of heart & mind, taken by obsession, driven to madness, full of desperation, resort to extremity. Ill of senses, sanity lost, they defy reason, they manifest as macabre phenomena.

The Human itself harbours seed of monstrosity.

Rather than treat the symptom of an epidemic & fight them when they appear unpredictably, why not try to understand root causes of their emergence, look into why they exist first of all, from where or what they originate, how to curb their descent to monstrosity from resolution of base issues?

It's shown human-origin monsters can revert if they regain sense of their humanity & have will of heart to do so. Even non-human origin ones often escalated from environmental factors, eg. pollution, unethical experiments, etc. then they go out & wreck havoc to air their grievances, so it seems an endless battle for humans, who also undeniably caused some of the issues bound to fester into monstrosity.

Random theory:

OPM God isn't actually a god. It's just a very powerful entity that calls Itself a god, and tells the people It infects (yes, infects. It doesn't gift those people powers or anything, It infects them) that It is God. And maybe the people It infected were like. Meant to be Its little guards or some shit. Like they keep the uninfected humans in line (i.e.: keep them from gaining power and turning against It.)

Do I have any information or lore to back up this theory? Apart from It being able to physically be fought, no.

Is there any specific reason I think this? Not really.

Will it likely be the case? Probably not.

But. It's my theory, so I share.

Now time for some nightmare fuel cosmic horror Saigenos, huehue.

Saitama has just had a good bout of sex with Genos and looks up from his futon at a figure hovering over him in a haze and hears his name being called, thinking its Genos over him. But when his vision clears, it is actually God who claims he must now face forfeitude. Saitama lowered his guard subconsciously and left himself wide open for attack.

Saitama's eyes widen in terror as God's hand reaches for him, paralyzed to the core. It grabs his throat and begins to pull his soul away from his body and Saitama screams, while Genos only sees Saitamas body hovering over the bed like in a horror movie. Genos springs to action and takes a hold of Saitama to drag him back and by chance, with his own divine power to shield them, it is enough to break God's hold on Saitama's very soul. Saitama plops back down, shriveled like a husk but somehow still alive.

Genos somehow saves him from God's clutches when he was at his most vulnerable.

Scapegoat

Because of @gofancyninjaworld 's recent meta about God vs a man, I had more thoughts.

Somehow, everything in this place ends up being Saitama's fault and he's just one little guy.

Specifically this line here. I've thought about Saitama becoming a danger to society before because said society betrays him after they find out about his power, but it may end up being far worse than that.

You know what would be exceptionally bad? If OPM God started to communicate with humankind as a whole, by himself or via his apostoles and offered them to be free of the monster problem, forever.

The only caveat? Give him Saitama.

The pressure on Saitama would become enormous. It would be such a tempting deal for humankind to take who get ravaged by monsters daily. OPM God would make a bargain with the entire mankind by exploiting their spirits just to get at Saitama, most definitely. Just like he exploited Garou and Empty void, but on a grander scale.

Maybe OPM God would even manipulate humans into thinking it's Saitama's fault that monsters keep appearing in the first place because he's drawing them in with his divine power. Hell, maybe it's true too. Saitama would be feared, abhorred and thrown to the wolves...unless he were to go face OPM God by himself because nobody could handle mankind's collective vitriol towards them.

Just give up one guy for the good of entire mankind, it's totally ok. Surely someone named God is a benevolent being too who keeps it's word lol.

Saitama would have his allies, especially Genos telling him it's not his fault and he doesn't need to sacrifice himself for the greater good, but the pressure would get to Saitama and he would cave in. And if the heroes run away, who's left to fight?

Sitch would be one of the defenders of Saitama, but unity and solidarity can also backfire pretty hard.

Maybe then Saitama would punch his way into God's dimension and inadverently free him and all hell would break loose.

That would be quite the finale to start the end.

But when all hope is lost because Saitama thinks he has to face OPM God alone, manipulated and broken by this cosmic horror being... this time around, Saitama's allies arrive to help him and save him from God's clutches and they proceed to defeat OPM God together.
