I had to look for a minute because I wasn't quite sure anymore what exactly I have already shown you in the past, but I'm pretty certain that I haven't shared this snippet before:
To this day he was not quite sure how exactly it had happened, but somehow he had ended up playing Mario Kart 8 with Optimus Prime that night.
Ratchet had, unsurprisingly, put him onto medical leave, so he had just stayed seated and continued racing when Arcee and Bulkhead had taken the children home. At some point or other Optimus had just materialised next to him and asked to join. He played Rosalina and did not complain a single time – even though, due to an unfortunate combination of lacking skill and bad luck, he came in last most of the time. Instead, Optimus just smiled gently when he finally won his first (and only) match and allowed himself to be hugged as he was decorated in chirped cheering and warbled praises.
After that, they continued to play until the sun had risen once again, summoning an absolutely livid Ratchet into the main room, and the images of menacing orange optics in an oh-so-familiar faceplate had long since faded to the back of his processor.
