Self Aware!Ad Astra AU
so i made a post about ad astra except they're self aware and some of you asked for more details,, i'm a bit sleepy so some of my yaps are disorganized ahahaha-
so this au will take place on the player's second playthrough of the conspiracy, probably out of boredom or revisiting past cases. now, having seen every deaths and arrest in the first run, the player knows what to expect etc. etc. also player (probably) knows the game by heart so they know what to expect and show in the dialogue box
however, this player wanted to get easy money so they downloaded a modded version of the game through a sketchy website. the increase of money worked, but the dialogues would turn off putting. in "stonewalled - case 8" where we first met christian, would sense and uneasy feeling of familiarity with the player - and would remark that he felt that he "met" player before. a new dialogue? maybe it's just an easter egg — the case goes as it was scripted: solve stella ziarati's murder. same goes with louis when he asked gpd for assistance, feeling like he met you somewhere before but cannot put his finger in it and it goes on with the rest of the ad astrans.
louis would be the first to notice the irregularities, like how you arrested christian as the killer as if you knew it from the start - sure he knows that you, the player, can handle the job well yet the way you observed him is just.. unnatural? it's as if you have seen and knew how the cases would play out. he probably tried discussing this with the other ad astrans but they brushed it off as him getting stressed out from all those reports.
then the others see the irregularities like deja vu, seeing/hearing glimpses of player, phantom pains (?) of how they got killed
this is the order of who found out first: louis, rozetta, joe, julia, and christian
the player could:
a) try to save them from their impending deaths by telling them what will happen. however, they will still get arrested
b) let the game play out the original timeline and let them die
c) join them in ad astra activities now that there's someone outside the screen who can support them
now if the player chose the a and c routes with the ad astrans are becoming more self aware, the flow of cases would derail due to player's interference — hell, they might even override the game to talk to the player directly, maybe even sending a phone notification (this might also be an extension of ad astra dating sim au lol-)
