okay i’m pretty sure that a meta had already written this before, but i just had to get it out of my head. and i know that may i be looking in too deep into this but anyways.

at the final agni kai, zuko took the lightning for katara right? and a lot of locals and other people that i don’t associate with said that zuko would’ve taken the lightning for anybody else from the gaang if they were put in the same situation as katara. and i do think that is true.

but have any of you considered the fact that azula may have not aim the lightning to every other member like she did with katara?

azula was slipping, losing even, to her brother whom she had considered was weak in comparison to herself. but then he managed to overpower her, so she has to find something to beat him. keep in mind at the time of the comet zuko was a lot more focused and powerful than he usually is, so there are only few blind spots in order for azula to defeat him but even those blind spots would not completely overthrow him, azula knows that. damn it he was even ready to redirect that frickin lightning. but then she saw her in the back, someone whom everytime is in the same presence at the same time as zuko was (from azula’s point of view), is the person who’s had various of moments with zuko that signifies that she is very much important to zuko compared to the other members of the gang, azula found his weakness. and so she used the only open weakness she could find of zuko at the time against him.

The ways of love are unfathomable 

David smiled. 

The delicate, small, fairy-like Ebrisa had now really married. She was still a child yesterday, thought Trevelyan. But that YESTERDAY was ages ago!

Ebrisa had become a breathtakingly beautiful woman - elegant, noble and intelligent. She was young like the fresh morning dew on the bright green leaves and grasses, but by noticing her age, the Herald only realised how many years had passed in his life.

Being on the road had always kept him from thinking too deeply. He was always too busy learning and discovering new things. He had to be on his guard, he had to write travelogues and diary entries, as well as letters. All this kept him away from pitch-black memories and deep-seated pain. The distraction of travel skilfully masked the rejection he felt at home. 

And he loved visiting his far-flung relatives. 

And he thought of Ebrisa again. Oh how happy she looked. All her hopes and wishes were coming true. That sunny bright glow in her eyes was the pure joy of life and love she held in her heart for herself and her beloved. 

And Cullen was never stronger and more tender at the same time before in his life. His eternal struggle, the addiction, the pain, the uncertainties, the constant burden seemed forgotten the moment he was married to this dream of a woman. 

David was touched, he was allowed to attend the wedding ceremony. Only a small circle had gathered. A big celebration was planned, but this could wait. 

The current circumstances throughout Thedas were unfavourable for large celebrations and long journeys. And to be honest, the couple was quite content not to have to celebrate for days with almost unknown relatives. They just wanted to be together, receive the blessing and swear eternal fidelity and love to each other, in front of kind people and the Maker. 

And David's heart ached in waves of longing and despair. 

He had grown old. He had lost friends. He had lost his arm. 

But he had laughed, conquered and loved just as much. Nevertheless, he felt burning sadness and deep loneliness. He did not talk about it, he did not let on. He continued to write funny and encouraging letters to his loved ones and friends and always had an open ear when someone felt like chatting. But he himself never opened his deepest doubts to anyone, not even Dorian, when they were talking with the help of the sending crystal. He did not allow himself to burden Dorian.
