“I wish he just—“ and he’s referring to jason. “I wish he left! or disappeared!”
And then when Dick leaves for his space long journey or wherever he disappears and returns and when his and Jason’s relationship isn’t so strained, he doesn’t hear the news from bruce but sees it in a newspaper.
‘Bruce wayne’s ward: Killed in a attack, Jason Todd dead.’
And dick is horrified. Because he wished he would disappear.
And jason did.
Imagine learning Jason was still alive beaten bloody and mutilated for those five minutes before the explosion killed him, Dick had every right to be filled with rage, to kill the joker, he’s angry at the killer but even angrier at himself.
