Sorry I just have to rant... I just saw the Emmy winners and just... Why are Women of Colour so disrespected when it comes to these awards?!? Like why do we even try? Michaela Coel and Thuso Mbedu acted their hearts out in their respective series only to get beaten by just... And like... I'm not mad at Kate Winslet, but Mare of Eastown wasn't a revolutionary show by any means, it was a run of a mill drama and that's not to be rude. It's just... I feel so exhausted and sad about it.

I just saw this on twitter too anon and I am 100% on your side. Like the Emmys thought nominating Black people and people of color was enough and that no one would notice if they lost every nomination. I’m happy that Michaela Coel won the Emmy for best writing (I actually had an anon a week ago telling me all about how good her series I May Destroy You was!) but given what everyone is saying, she seemed to deserve to win an acting award too. I don’t think you’re being rude at all about Kate Winslet in Mare of Eastown. I had never heard of that show or her performance but I heard a ton about Michaela Coel and Thuso Mbedu (I believe one of the anons was also raving about The Underground Railroad) so it just seems undeserved to me.
