Reading Choices (probably more like preferences, because I’ll read almost anything)
I was tagged by @dingoat. (Thanks!)
I’m a slow reader so I haven’t read nearly as many as @kunoichi-ume, but I do tend to have two or three going at the same time and will read whatever fits my mood.
Currently, I’ve got an amazingly well written fantasy that challenges the writer in me to be better, but it requires that I be fully awake to appreciate. (A Land Fit for Heroes series by Richard K. Morgan). Then there’s a fun sci-fi romance series that’s predictable and too the point, but the characters are cheeky and a lot of fun for when I’m beat and just want to enjoy some steamy action scenes. (Hell Squad series by Anna Hackett.) And a sci fi series that I’ve just started that’s hard core science fiction for when the geek in me needs some space time. (Donovan Trilogy by W. Michael Gear)
hardcover or paperback / rent or buy (If I loved it, I’ll add it to my collection)/ reads in silence or reads with music / standalone or series / annotations or pristine pages / ebook or physical copy / dog ears or bookmarks / mismatched series or complete set / cover matters or you don’t judge / lend books or keep them to yourself / enjoys lit classes or despises them / browses shops or orders online / reads reviews or goes in blind (or on friends’ recommendations) / unreturned books or clean library record / rereads or once was enough / fanfic enthusiast or a stickler for canon / deep reader or easily distracted / must read the book before seeing the movie or order doesn’t matter (I often read the book BECAUSE I saw the movie)/ has-wants neat bookshelves or messy bookshelves / skips ahead or resists temptation / reads aloud or in your head / guesses plot twists or never sees them coming
