if anything else makes a noise around me rn i am going to scream i think
I am the angriest I have ever been in my life right now
i just saw my stepdad get mad for the first time and it scared the absolute shit out of me lol
I am not about people who yell when they're angry
I want to scream.
Totally not on Tumblr
Ugghhh. Ever since all these older women joined the switchfam group it’s just gone downhill from there (about 2ish years ago on the interwebs). Like, it’s totes fine that they’re in the group, but they kinda cause some trouble with their whole ‘you stole my photo’ thing - which I can kinda see why their mad - but I also think they’re incredibly stupid for uploading photos to the internet and then complaining that people steal them. Like, it happens. It’s the f***cking internet. It’s kinda like if you made beautiful handcrafted jewelry and decided to share with the world, so you put them on a table in the middle of Times Square New York and then left them there for a few days. And then, when you came back they were all stolen and you’d be like ‘hey, those kids stole my jewelry!’ Well. Yeah.
Also, when I went to my very Switchfoot concert, my mom met a smoker who was a middle-aged woman from Kansas (I’m in Nebraska) who had been to 20 Switchfoot concerts. I don’t know about you guys, but being a teen/college-aged person and going to a ton of concerts (of different bands) is one thing. But when you drive over state borders and track the band and go to their concerts for a week or two - that’s weird (unless you’re a paid roadie). And I’m a HUGE FAN, but I still give them personal space. I am not a groupie.
There’s some bad things goin’ down within the bandom right now, that really takes a hit to all the members of this fandom. I can’t control anything that’s happening, but it’s a scary thing to be in this fandom right now, and if the guys ever found out, I’d bury myself in a dark hole. I didn’t do anything (I think - other than rant), but the funny thing is - this whole ‘thing’ is non-Switchfoot related - but it’s happening within JUST the Switchfoot fandom.
Deep down, I think it’s a woman thing/hierarchy thing. It’s hard to describe, but... like, the older women are trying to take control of the younger girls (like myself I guess) through this whole picture thing - which is really weird. But being on the internet - it’s easy to be a bully and scare people and block and report and delete them (and their stuff - and steal it). So, these women are like trying to internet reprimand other children and young adults - which is creating this terrible havoc-ey mess going around on Facebook and Instagram and Flickr and it’s causing original young fans to leave the fandom (side note - I saw someone complain about the amount of Switchfoot fanpages and how they’re useless and she’s like ??? what are they doing here ???).
I don’t want to shut down my fanpage - but if I don’t - who else will? I know I’ve posted other people’s pictures without them (which I don’t always do - I credit who I know took/last had the picture), but without those pictures - there wouldn’t be any fanpages (unless you used only your pics). But then if you used all your pics, someone else might come take them - which goes into this vicious cycle that is attacking the switchfandom right now.
And on another note - I post pictures knowing that someone somewhere will take it and repost it. Actually, it already happened to me and I didn’t get credit.
But you wanna know something?
I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the fact that someone LIKED my picture edit enough to share it and that in itself made me happy.
i need to punch a wall i hate people
