It was so dehumanising, it makes me consider that maybe, with Guzi, he gets to observe or witness what he isn't, but could be or could have been. His paternal attitude maybe comes from his need to protect Guzi from becoming someone like him, by telling him that he is going to have a home, that he doesn't need to worry about money, or food, and yes, he says that he is going to eat him, but that's besides the point.
