We arrived on the Third World country, A cloudy afternoon at Montego Bay Welcomed by poverty and heckling vendors. Once we boarded with the Knutsford Express, I began seeing the beautiful landscape Within the rose gold fields and surrounding greenery Using the first breathtaking sunset Beyond the endless Caribbean Sea As you doze off next to me from the plane trip, A tan angel sleeping on my sweaty shoulder In an outdated bus showing 90s martial art films, Passengers riding through the unknown plateaus Traveling across the island of irie life.

Marijuana smoke fills the air; Its smell becomes airborne During the Jamaican nights echoing reggae, “Yah mon,” “One love,” “You smoke?” “No problem” Heard from the darkest top of the Oracabessa hills. We listen to the Marleys and Rasta instrumentals Along white sandy coasts on our windy cab cruises. . . Greeting the locals around street fruit markets, Watching the villa from the bottom of James Bond Beach, Swimming freely in the clear turquoise ocean, Hiking up through the rocky Dunn’s River Falls, Cliffdiving into their famous Blue Hole in the forest, Walking miles to find the Island Village in Ocho Rios, Dining at Boardwalk Bistro for Ochi breakfast, Enjoying scoops of stout ice cream alongside gift shops, Dipping pizza in balsamic vinaigrette at Caffe da Vinci, Splurging on appetizers at Margaritaville, Experiencing waterslide fun under rainy weather, Lounging seaside with a Red Stripe at hand.

All we bring back are touristy souvenirs, Jerk seasoning, curry sauce, and rum cake, And some bit of debris that made its way Between the pages written by Chuck Palahniuk. It is amazing how nostalgic I get Recollecting those pieces of nirvana, The memories of a couple who lived together; Wiser hearts grew beneath fatigued bodies We flew overseas to finally return home, But I didn’t have to fly with Southwest To discover a faraway paradise Because it was beside me the whole time.

The #Oracabessa High School student who allegedly attacked the dean of discipline at the school on Wednesday was arrested by the police on Thursday morning after he turned up at the institution with an ice pick in his bag. Allegations are that the boy and his father went to the school gate, with the student demanding to see the dean of discipline. He reportedly made threats against the dean of discipline, noting that if he was not fired, he would take physical action against the #schoolteacher.
