Fierce Gun Battle in Orakzai Claims Lives of 11 Pakistani Soldiers

In a tragic incident during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11 Pakistani Army personnel, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major, lost their lives. The operation, aimed at targeting militants linked to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was launched late on Tuesday following credible intelligence about militant activity in the region.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that 19 militants were killed during the intense exchange of fire, citing the effective engagement of Pakistani troops. Leading the operation was 39-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif and his deputy, 33-year-old Major Tayyab Rahat, both of whom were among the soldiers who sacrificed their lives. The remaining nine soldiers also died in the line of duty during the gunfight.

This operation underscores Pakistan Army's continued efforts to neutralize militant threats in the region, despite facing severe challenges on the ground.
