Just mustered the energy to read through your analysis of XO (low spoons, woo) and like. Honest to goodness, the way they're having two different conversations is part of what I love about that story (and about a lot of your writing. I think I've read most of what you have on Ao3 but today's been rough and my brain is lagging). I also like the way that you write Wade--the boxes and the addressing what he suppresses. I'm gonna have to go re-read now you've reminded me how good it is. Thank you
Aaaahh,,, thank you! My re-read has been exhausting too, so I feel you, lol. Thanks for mustering the energy to listen to any of my thoughts. There are so many details that I add into my fics, and I can’t say ANYTHING, because I don’t want to spoil things I haven’t written yet. It’s really nice to be able to go through and be like, ‘so this is foreshadowing’ and ‘look at this joke!’ and ‘this is what this means, if you missed it.’
A lot of the stuff I write, I write it with a certain level of foreshadowing in mind, and I really do love this concept of like, a character can say one thing and it can be interpreted different ways, because one of the characters knows something that the other doesn’t, or the reader doesn’t know something yet, and when you go back to re-read, suddenly a completely innocuous-looking part of the story will slap you in the face with new understanding. It’s fun but difficult to mentally keep track of, and given my struggles with memory I legitimately have no idea how I do this sometimes.
I love them so much, aaa ♥ I think after I post my final chapter for Hello, Handsome, I’ll do the same kind of re-read for that fic too, but I’ll try to restrain myself more and just point out any interesting extra information and thoughts on the themes. The ending made me cryyyyy I can’t wait to finish and post it.
