0rbitalis is literally on the top of my Steam games list. I was playing it this weekend as I was making a spreadsheet of my backlog. It's a short game and fun at times but also incredibly frustrating at other times.
The point of the game is to basically to launch a ship and keep it in orbit around a star. But there are a lot of variations including launching multiple ships at once, avoiding asteroids or other ships, handling negative gravity and warping through wormholes. My favorite variation is where you have to hit another planet or asteroid with the ship instead of orbiting it.
The main issue I had with the game is that there is no capability to make precise launches. The initial launch ship is usually in motion and the launch vector is constantly changing. That means that some levels are completely trial-and-error as very small changes can mean the difference between a three-minute orbit or a three-second crash.
Still I enjoyed it enough to finish the game and beat most of the challenge levels. There's a few challenge levels left but they are so frustrating that I don't think I'll spend my time trying to finish them. There's no point in playing the game if I'm not having fun.
However, I think I can take this game off my backlog. Another game down in 2017!
