When John disappears, Gary decides to wait. The skies have gone red, which means the Legends and other heroes on this Earth are dealing with it. He’d understand if he’s not invited- he still can’t forgive himself for what he did. But a lot of the other Legends didn’t go either. The last time they tried to help, Nazis attacked and killed Martin Stein. After hearing that, Gary gets why they aren’t involved.
Still, he’s worried as he waits inside the house. Cleo is skittish, running around and scratching at the door. He remembers reading how animals in San Francisco were unsettled in the days before the earthquake struck in 1906. His cat’s behavior makes him worry about what’s to come.
Gary tries his best to stay busy. He gets dinner ready. Practices some magic spells that he’s been learning. Makes a grocery list on the whiteboard they got where John sometimes leaves little bad drawings. But he can’t stop thinking about what is happening and if John’s going to come home.
When he picks up the mail, something falls out. It’s from a doctor’s office. John’s name is on it. Gary frowns and set it aside. John never mentioned this to him before.
Cleo screeches and runs out of the room. Gary looks at the window. His eyes widen as he sees something coming towards the house. He wonders where John is and if he’d okay. It’s a bit petty, but Gary wishes that John was here with him because right now he’s terrified.
He puts his arms up in front of him to protect himself, knowing deep down it won’t work.

Constangreen Hogwarts AU. Go.
1. Their paths first cross in Diagon Alley at Ollivander’s. Both are getting help from Hogwarts teacher’s (John’s Muggleborn and while Gary’s mother was a witch, she’s since passed). Gary at least tries to be friendly and tells him that he’ll see him at Hogwarts.
2. At Hogwarts, John gets sorted into Gryffindor and Gary can’t help but hope that he gets put into the same house. But when he gets to the Sorting Hat, time ticks by as the hat picks through his head before finally shouting out ‘SLYTHERIN’.
3. John struggles to fit into the Wizarding World while Gary struggles to fit into his new house. Some of the older Pureblood students give John a ton of shit, and with Slytherin’s reputation, people are wondering if quiet Gary is going to be the next Dark Lord. Plus, he’s an easy target.
4. When they share classes, John always partners up with Gary. Gary always knows the correct movements and measurements and can remember any spell. John has execution nailed. Together, they’re the perfect team.
5. As the holidays start to approach, Gary asks John if he wants to come home with him for the break. John’s hesitant but trusts Gary. It doesn’t turn out to be as bad as he expects. If anything, it’s kind of fun.
