A couple of weeks ago we sampled the first home brew. I totally forgot to post these. I was feeling apprehensive. Were they strong enough? Would they taste right? Had they fermented properly? Did we give them enough sugar for condition and carbonation? Do we have any idea what we are doing? Lol Loads of questions... So there was a lot riding on the first cap being popped... ...Clink.Pop.FIZZZZ Excellent! It sounds right, pour looks good, a little cloudy but generally quite decent. Small sample glasses to taste a couple of bottles. To our surprise they tasted ok. The initial smell is a little chemically but it disappears almost immediately, leaving a nice hoppy aroma with smooth with sweet caramel flavours and a bitter after taste. All in all quite impressed. It's a St Peters India Pale Ale and I measured it at ABV 4%. 10days fermenting with 2 days warm conditioning and 2 weeks cool conditioning. All conditioned in the bottles. So first try was a success. Yeah? I think so...
