This is a thank you gift for OricYaeger, who was incredibly kind and donated his time and brain power to coding a PEAK mod for me. It was something I used to help me spectate, broadcast, and run the PEAK race I held on my stream recently, and it worked amazingly! The best feature was the auto-spectate, which made me automatically jump to certain climbers under certain conditions (like taking too much damage, or falling for more than two seconds). Thanks again, Oric! :D

Oric Atmos (1984)

At the beginning of 1984, the Oric Atmos was released, which was essentially identical to the 48K version of the Oric-1. Compared to the Oric-1, the main improvements included a proper keyboard and the installation of an updated V1.1 ROM on the Oric motherboard, although this version still contained some unfortunate bugs in its code.

On the back of the machine were an RF output, an audio I/O jack, an RGB output, printer and disk drive ports, as well as a power connector.

Unfortunately, the machine was not any more reliable — the voltage regulator became extremely hot, and even though it was fitted with a new heat sink, that was still not enough to prevent failures.

A few months after the Atmos appeared (in late 1984), a 3-inch floppy drive, printer, and modem also became available.

Despite the hardware issues, the machine initially sold quite well, especially in the Netherlands, but not well enough to compete with Sinclair, Commodore, and the newcomer Amstrad.
